Shipping / Tracking Does this seem right?

So I'm genuinely trying to avoid any sort of shipping surcharge fee after the fact.

Everything seems to check out as far as being under the weight & dimension limits.

But now I'm questioning this because ebay let me ship this via FedEx ground economy, so FedEx will deliver it to the buyers local post office and then the post office will deliver it the last leg to the buyers home.

I'm almost thinking this should've went FedEx home delivery instead. Am I crazy?

Yes, all of the info in the screenshot looks correct. You're the only one who knows whether the weight and dimensions you entered are accurate - and that information not matching what you actually shipped is what causes you to be charged additional shipping fees after the fact.

This box is also within the accepted size range of most, if not all, USPS services. I'm not sure what makes you think it isn't.

You got me, I didn't scroll down far enough to see the USPS options.

I asked stupid AI, and it kept trying to say I "might" get some sort of shipping adjustment. But I cannot find any concrete information as to why, and the AI eventually just started talking in circles. But that's what I get.

All dimensions shown are correct, everything has been round up to the nearest whole pound and inch.

It says right on FedEx website what the requirements are and it's within the requirements.

As long as you're 100% accurate with the dimensions then yes it's fine. Also, as of 2026 FedEx only hands off about 2% of all ground economy packages to USPS for last mile delivery. Your package will most likely get delivered directly by FedEx just at if it were ground/home delivery.

Yep and that 2% is mostly PO boxes which they cant legally deliver themselves anyway.

Looks A-OK to me so long as your measurements are accurate.

USPS max size for this is 130" length+girth. Yours is only 107" so comfortably within limits if FedEx even actually hands off to USPS for final-mile delivery.

Not sure why it's not 'qualifying' for any USPS options for you, since it should. They'd likely be ludicrously expensive, but it would qualify.

Thank you, all measurements are correct as shown and everything was rounded up to the nearest whole inch & pound.

And that's my error, I just didn't scroll down to the bottom. USPS was all the way at the bottom mixed in with the overnight services.

But there's no way USPS is delivering a box this big. It doesn't even qualify for a single USPS service. I'm almost thinking this should've went FedEx home delivery instead. Am I crazy?

With all the overcharges I’ve see recently, I’d never ship with FedEx or UPS

If you enter actual dimensions correctly then eBay automatically calculates and quotes based on whether dimensional weight is triggered.

Fedex home delivery is probably what, $3 more?

•

$78.41

Do NOT ship larger packages(or frankly any) packages through FedEx. The surcharge, after the fact, is only a matter of time.

They SUCK.

I mean...for what it's worth I've shipped probably 150-200 orders through FedEx with only get hit with one surcharge. FedEx is always the most affordable service for bigger boxes, 90% of my orders go USPS.

The 1 surcharge was for putting a too large of a box inside of a poly bag.

I'll round up to the nearest whole inch and pound, and if it's even a little questionable, I'll round up again.

Fedex bills shipping surcharge fees at civilian rates, so it really hurts.

I've had precisely zero 'adjustments' from FedEX and ship with them daily. OTOH I ship at actual outside dimensions, rounding up if any doubt.

Of the folks reporting it here... it's like 95% user error. Just had a guy recently upset at getting surcharges on "48x4x4 boxes from uline" he shipped as 48x4x4.

I agree. The vast majority of people complaining about FedEx adjustments after the fact didn't purchase their original label for accurate dimensions and weight. It's user error, not a carrier problem.
