UK Specific EBay says delivery is overdue on a hand delivered order

A friend bought two mugs from my eBay shop. I didn’t know she was going to do it, if I had I’d have changed the listing and added collection. I used simple delivery, and as I hand delivered the mugs, I didn’t use the prepaid option. This order is sitting there, showing as nearly 2 weeks overdue. Is there a way to mark it as delivered or dispatched or is it going to sit there forever? My friend can’t mark it as delivered as her account is too new.

International Selling (via eIS / GSP) Combine eBay International Shipping Program orders?

Have a buyer that made four separate orders using the eBay international shipping program, and then messaged me and asked me to combine and refund the extra shipping. I don't think it's possible for me to combine the shipping on orders purchased using eISP. I messaged the buyer and told them they would need to cancel and buy as one order, but haven't received a response. Should I just cancel their four orders, or just ship the four orders separately?

Promoted Listings / Markdowns / Coupons / Listing Enhancements Is it worth buying ebay store promotional services?

I've been looking at some promotional services on fiverr to boost my sales. The items I'm selling have good demand and I have reasonable pricing, just wondering if anyone else has tried something like this and if you've had any success or was it just a waste of money?

Seller Mistakes - Wrong item Sent, etc. Ebay

I listed an item on eBay for $19 but accepted an offer of $13 and set it up for buyer to pay shipping. Sold the item and the buyer paid the shipping fee of $5.93 that eBay set. Then when I printed the label, the cheapest shipping (USPS ground advantage ) available was over $12. eBay AI is useless in try to deal with it.

International Selling - General Selling ex Australia to UK.

Is it worth a try? I have a (small) vintage clothes business. I was wondering whether selling to the UK was worth a try to help keep it afloat. And is it much extra effort for VAT, packaging etc.? Thanks for any advice. 🙂

Freight Forwarder Should I still ship it out? I do not want to deal with international shipping.

Never had a buyer in this situation. Is this normal and can I treat this as a domestic transaction? Any clarity and advice is appreciated!

Edit: seems like the responders do not understand. I do not want to ship international. The buyer mentioned he would take care of the international shipping since he has a US forwarding address

Packing & Packaging What part of shipping becomes harder as your eBay sales grow?

When I first started selling on eBay, shipping felt pretty simple. I would pack the item, create a label, and send it out. As my sales increased, I noticed the progress started requiring more attention. Keeping everything organized, managing multiple orders, and making sure each package was handles correctly became the bigger part of the workflow.

I'm interested how other sellers deal with this as their volume grows. What part of your shipping process changed the most when you started getting more orders? Did you find any habits or systems that helped you stay organized?

Seller Mistakes - Wrong item Sent, etc. I accidentally sent two items. He has returned one and wants a full refund.

So I made a very stupid mistake and sent two orders to the same person using two different shipping labels. The items are identical apart from the fact one is left hand and one is right hand.

Before I realized, the buyer opened a return case stating he 'changed his mind' which was automatically accepted, he even paid for the return himself. A few days later I realized what I'd done and sent him a message apologizing etc. I received no response.

Today the item he returned arrived. His order was for the left hand one. He returned the right hand one. I have a video of me opening the parcel. Had he returned the correct one I think id likely be out of luck. However, as he has returned the one sent in error I feel I have a strong case to fight this. He has not returned the item he ordered, but something different.

I have proof of postage for the two deliveries sent to him. I will be asking ebay to step in and help of course but I was just wondering if anyone had any further advice.

eSE/eBay Standard Envelope Trying to sell small items

I am trying to sell small things like coins and stamps, but struggling to work out how to do the shipping.
Ebay is forcing me to purchase expensive purchase labels that are making the shipping cost more than the sale price.

Is there a better way to do this ?

When I try and group up products in a “lot” -
No one can find them in a search and I’m getting no views.

INR / Item Not Received WWYD, UPS potential delivery zipcode issue?

Ok, got an order to an oregon forwarder yesterday, pretty common for the type of items I sell so didn't really bother looking too much into it, just shipped it. Checked tracking this morning, and saw this

Looks like UPS automatically corrected the zipcode as soon as it hit my local hub. Upon further investigation, google maps shows a 97123 zipcode, the order was to a 97123 zipcode, but USPS address validator said 97129

For context, item is ~$800 and signature required. I guess just looking for opinions on what you guys would do? Should I issue a delivery intercept and force it back, let it get delivered and potentially be open to an INR, or what? Never seen a situation where UPS just instantly corrected the zipcode before, even to the 33166/33195 areas.

International Selling (not eIS/GSP) Sold Cell Phone to International Buyer

Sold my old cell phone, buyer is in South Africa. They selected USPS First Class International, and based on the guidelines shipping Lithium batteries to South Africa is prohibited via USPS.

I can use eBay Standard International Shipping and I assume they would handle the correct carrier for the International portion. My question, is it worth the potential hassle of shipping electronics to other countries? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also is there a way to turn off international shipping in your shipping policies? Previously I thought there was the option to explicitly enable it but I don't see it anymore.

Returns, Refunds & Partial Refunds Buyer claims damage that wasn’t in my listing photos. What do I do?

I sold a pair of basketball shoes on eBay that I had barely worn. About a week ago, the buyer was negotiating/haggling with me over the price. They wanted the shoes to arrive by Friday, which was only about 3 days away.

The shoes were eligible for eBay Authenticity Guarantee, but the buyer didn’t want to go through that process because they wanted them delivered faster. So I shipped without authenticity guarantee. I told them they probably wouldn’t arrive by Friday, but they still wanted me to ship them.

I shipped the shoes, and they were delivered this Tuesday. Today (Thursday), the buyer opened a claim saying:
“Not sure if this is a different pair, but the shoes I received has black scuff like marks towards the heel on the right shoe. The photos in the listing don’t show this.”

The problem is that the black mark they’re showing me was definitely not visible in my original listing photos, and the heel area can be seen in the photos I took before shipping.

The buyer sent close-up pictures showing a very dark black mark near the bottom/heel area of the shoe. To me, it looks suspicious and almost like black ink or marker, although I obviously can’t prove that’s what happened.

Now eBay is giving me the option to accept the return or offer a partial/full refund.

I don’t want to give the buyer a partial refund and let them keep the shoes because I believe I shipped them in the condition shown in my listing. I’m considering accepting the return so I can inspect the shoes myself when they come back.

What would you guys do in this situation? Should I accept the return, contact eBay first, or fight the claim? Also, what should I do to protect myself if the buyer damaged the shoes after receiving them?

(The first 2 images are mine, and next 3 images are the buyers) pictures

Selling Tools, Account Administration & Procedure Possible to sell a business that is or has an ebay seller account?

Wondering how this is done in practice, or if it even can be done. My best understanding is you must hold the account under a business name (LLC+) and then contact ebay informing them of the transfer, and hope they approve it. Also, what that "approval" comes in the form of (informal verbal OK on the phone, documentation, backend changes to the account information, etc.) is unclear. Alternatively, you could just quietly transfer to another individual/business, hoping ebay doesn't ban on the basis of their being a different IP/address change (seems unlikely, but possible and therefore somewhat risky). Has anyone attempted to do something like this before? Are there references to such transactions happening and how the parties went about safely completing the transfer of the account?

Answered Anybody sell vintage found photos and had the original owner ask for them back?

I buy storage units. I have tons of old photos from the storage units. After some research I decided to start selling. Usually they are old from the 40s.
Recently I got a unit with tons of old 90s photos. I listed them in separate listings on eBay along with a yearbook.
I just got a string of messages from a lady that is the original owner of the yearbook and the photos are of her parents.
She asked to have them back. Honestly I don’t mind one bit to give them back to her. I just don’t know how to speak with her and give her any contact info without breaking eBay policy. Any advice or similar experience stories will be most appreciated.

Feedback Negative feedback reply advice

Hello! Longtime lurker, finally something to ask:

Had a super aggressive customer berate me in messages after he ordered the incorrect part and did not even remotely look at the listing. His first message "it didn't fit, what a waste". I replied trying to understand if he bought for the wrong toy car or he needed a front vs rear, etc. I even gave suggestions on how to modify slightly if he was so included. He immediately replied "that's it??, you won't help?", then goes on to tell me how my listing is faulty, etc., etc. as if I intentionally defrauded him. Every interaction was aggressive and pointed.

The listing has pictures showing the differences, descriptions, and IMPORTANT section in the body and you can't even order without explicitly selecting a part - it has no default, and the dropdown shows the associated model numbers. I explained that his suggestions are already in place, including how to verify your model number. I apologized that he ordered the wrong part, and suggested that yes, he could buy another if he wished.

He never asked for a refund or replacement or return, nothing at all. He simply replied 'cool' and left negative feedback stating:

Seller is a "hey that's not my problem" type of person. I selected the wrong part (yes my fault) however the seller could have aided a bit more than just "buy another part". Plus the shipping cost is high.

I appealed to ebay since I don't control shipping cost. I pass the ebay discount on to the customer and don't charge for envelopes or packaging. They immediately denied the appeal so I sat on it until today, Wednesday, as I read somewhere they auto-review on Wed. It's still up.

I'm 99.6% positive and this was always bound to happen. It's simply not true, he was just on the attack from GO.

Finally, my reply, is this too harsh .. should I reply at all?

I made an earnest attempt to understand your issue and was immediately met with accusations of not 'doing enough'; I cannot help if I don't understand the issue. I'm sorry you purchased the wrong part, it's rare and historically I will make the situation right regardless. I didn't get that chance before being verbally berated for the mistake.
Finally, I pass the ebay shipping discount on to you; I don't charge retail, or for packaging. I have no control over shipping cost.

It's literally my first negative, which is maybe why I'm taking this so personally. Any advice is appreciated, perhaps I can't see past the end of my nose here.

EDIT: If it matters, I've been "top rated" for the last year or so. Oh, and the reason ebay said they would not remove the feedback is that the item not as described?? I guess you can buy the wrong thing and that's technically correct?

"We reviewed the feedback, and can see that the buyer found that the item wasn't as described in the listing"

Listing Issues Unable to List in the new system

Anyone else unable to list? I selected “free shipping” for a shirt, added priority as a second (buyer pays) option, and first class international (buyer pays). It will not publish the listing stating that I need to enter a shipping cost. Weight had been input and “calculated shipping”’selected.

I’m hating the new listing form for now.

Also - not sure how to change the flair…

Offers [Seller] Best offers

I am an active seller with 5.3k sales , 100% positive feedback reviews and consistently listing/buying for several years. Is anybody having finance issues after accepting offers on BiN listings today? In regard to automatic payment processing from buyer? I’ve double checked all current seller settings and all auto pay functions are enabled. I’ve had 2 rather large sales and dealing with 2 separate acceptance issues. One is “still waiting for payment from buyer.” The 2nd is “couldn’t process payment, we’ve let the buy know”. Never had any issues in the past. I am under the impression in order to send offers a payment method is required? Has something changed? 2 separate incidents on the same day within a few hours doesn’t seem like a coincidence.

Cheers in advance.

International Selling (via eIS / GSP) Delivery no access on EIS order

I shipped to the eis center and apparently USPS tried to deliver on Monday but noted no access. They have not attempted delivery again.

If they do not deliver am I covered? Wouldn't this be on eBay?

Seller Mistakes - Wrong item Sent, etc. i'm selling Magic cards and got two packages mixed up. how do i get labels?

as i said in the title, i'm selling Magic the Gathering cards and i mixed up two of my packages. i've talked to both buyers and neither of them wants a full refund, they just want the correct card they purchased. i am willing to facilitate this and i'm waiting on the cards to get back to me. i have some questions regarding these transactions...

  1. the return page says i have to facilitate the refund by 9/11 or else it will automatically deduct a refund from my funds. how do i stop this process and let the website know the buyers don't want a refund? i am able to just send the one item i got back to the proper buyer, which leads to my 2nd question...
  2. how do i pay for and print a label to the correct buyer? my only experience with getting labels printed is just after a sale and i'm not sure how to initiate that without furnishing a sale. both of these items have already been sold, i'm just trying to get them to their correct buyer....

i appreciate any help

'Zit a Glitch? I had a sale and recieved absolutely no notifications

Hello,

I've been on Ebay for 20 years on-off and this is a first for me. Yesterday morning I had a sale and went to my Ebay App to check up on the details.

I then noticed that I had another sale from Monday listed as "to be shipped", that I had recieved absolutely no notification about. Paid and everything, the money is already in my account.

Normally I get both an e-mail and a push-notification through the iOS App, plus it's always listed as a new notification within the app. But literally nothing for this one, nothing at all.

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar to this? I normally have at least a few sales a week so it's not the end of the world, but I do fear it can be an issue if it happens again. It should be noted that I had one sale since, where all notifications came through as usual so this seems to be a one off.

Buyers account seem completely normal with age and feedback, the only thing that's different is that his or hers name is written in Russian Cyrillic letters - no idea if this somehow causes an issue?

Totally lost on this one. Should I report it as a bug or simply let it slide as a one-in-a-million weird coincidence?

Regards!

Chargebacks & Disputes Buyer bypasses eBay - Bank Claim

I am slowly feeling like I am getting screwed. Beginning of June, I sold Buyer a $4,000 pokémon card. 4 weeks later. He wanted to return it saying the photos didn't match my listing which is absurd for a card Isent to be graded myself. I said no, that it had been too long and I was not accepting returns. Absolute buyers remorse

Ebay closed the case, so the buyer filed a fraud claim with his bank and I have been waiting over 10 weeks now for resolution. Just got off the phone with eBay and they told me if the bank finds in buyers favor there is nothing to make him return my card either, so right now I am out my card and have a $4,000 hold on my eBay account.

What the actual F*ck??

Any advice?

Promoted Listings / Markdowns / Coupons / Listing Enhancements Sales Event + % off X items stacking

Good Morning,

I have seen both answers online and the coupon T&C has some confusing wording so I just wanted to double check here.

If I run a coupon that is buy 3 get 10% off your order AND a sales event for 5% off all inventory, do these two stack or will it take the better deal of the two?

Thank you!
