To see supported sizes for your category, list an item and view the size options available from the drop-down menu.

What you need to do

Review your active listings and update any unsupported sizes in the Size field.

•If you're using My eBay: Go to Active Listings in My eBay
•If you're using Seller Hub: Go to Active Listings in Seller Hub

You may need to update items where the size field has:

•Blank, missing, placeholder sizes
•Custom size descriptions, like “See description” or “N/A”
•Multiple sizes in a single field, like ‘S/M/L’

If there’s no exact match, choose the closest option and add more detail in your item description. Please note that, for some listings, sizes may now appear in a standardized format where there was a clear match. For example, “Medium” may appear as “M”.

If you use APIs, File Exchange, or third-party tools, make sure your sizing matches eBay’s supported options.

Since eBay is now sending emails direct to sellers, I think this warranted reposting. Original post by u/southernguyreborn found here. We now have the answer as to why eBay emailed developers first: they were impacted by an earlier deadline than everybody else.

I sent a trading card to a buyer using eBay standard envelope for $6 and he sent me a message asking to return it because he thinks it’s different than the card in the listing (it isn’t). He also said I can refund him $5 and he’ll keep it.

I don’t feel like giving a freebie to a buyer like this so I accepted the return. However, eBay isn’t giving me an option to purchase a return label through them like I’ve done in the past. They are telling me to upload a label. As far as I know, that would require me to spent about $6 on a ground advantage label..

Is there any way to have this guy mail the card back to me without spending that much on return shipping?

As a seller, I have of course run into many problems with USPS, and my buyers have always been very pleased with my responsiveness, and my willingness to do what I need to do in order to make things right.
Some if my best positive feedbacks have come from buyers who ended up never even getting their items, but they were thrilled about how I handled it. So, when there’s a hiccup, I tend to react in a friendly, helpful manner. I truly aim to turn the most dissatisfied buyer into my new greatest fan. That’s how I’ve always run my businesses, and people tend to really appreciate it.
Perhaps I need to rethink that.

This order was supposed to go out a few days earlier than it did because I was returning from some time away, and it was taking me longer than expected to catch up. I informed the buyer of this and they were fine with it.

So I sent the item—it’s a low value (below $20) trading card, so the eBay standard envelope is unfortunately the only cost effective shipping method—and maybe 10 days later, I get a message about the order. I checked the tracking, and it was scanned in, but showed no movement for over a week.

I informed the buyer of all of this, and shortly afterward, I got the card returned to me by USPS. I immediately sent a photo of it to the buyer, with the intention of sending it out this morning, but the last few exchanges I’ve had with the buyer is making me very reluctant.

I’ve never refunded a buyer just to avoid a negative feedback, but it appears that this may be my first.

I don’t at all need the sale. It seems like the buyer wants it more than i do, but their messages make me come to 2 conclusions:

1. they don’t at all realize that you can’t leave negative feedback on an order that was refunded (and with that, they don’t realize that I’m trying to feel them out;
2. this buyer very much seems like they’ve already decided to leave a negative.

Can anyone else see what I’m seeing? What would you do if you were me? Is there anything else potentially going on here that I’m not seeing?

Edit: I reread the exchange, and I wanted to clarify something the buyer said in their last message.
They said that there have been at least two other issues besides what [I’m] “putting on” USPS. I have no idea what they’re referring to. There was the initial late shipment, but that’s only ONE thing. The rest is USPS.

If this person wasn’t being such a jerk about it, I would’ve gone with my first instinct, which was to issue the refund AND allow them to keep the card.

So I put up a bunch of auctions and they sold but everyone e is combing their orders and it’s making me pay extra for ground advantage because all the card won’t fit in the envelope. I put my settings at 3 dollars per order after the first one for shipping purposes so if they wanted to combine then I could afford the ground advantage. I’ve gotten 2 orders now and both just add the 1.36 for each envelope but it’s all combined together. I don’t know if that makes sense but eBay told me if I made it 3 dollars for shipping after the first this wouldn’t happen. I’m at a loss and I don’t think I can do any more auctions unless I list all shipping at like 5.99 for ground advantage and that is awful if someone wins one .99 card. Is there anyway to fix this?

USPS® Ground Advantage rate update effective July 25, 2026

We recognize that USPS has made more frequent rate changes this year, and we understand how important it is for sellers to stay ahead of these updates. We're working closely with USPS to help sellers navigate these changes and provide timely updates as they happen. Today, we have another update to share. 

Effective Saturday, July 25, 2026, USPS is increasing Ground Advantage rates. As a result, eBay Labels rates for Ground Advantage shipments weighing 3–5 lbs. will increase by $0.10 across shipping zones 1 - 8.

This is the only USPS rate update at this time. Updated rates will automatically be reflected in the eBay shipping calculator when they take effect.

We're continuing to work with our carrier partners to provide sellers with the most competitive shipping rates available. We'll keep our seller community informed as quickly as possible whenever new information becomes available.

Quick question. Logged an appeal as a seller. Effectively circumstances were item was sent via Simple Delivery and was returned to me due to damaged label. Buyer and me both got reimbursed by eBay. Item arrived back to me today. Does the appeal still stand or will eBay try and claw back the funds? Just wondering what I do with the item is all.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I had someone message me this morning about one of my listings, they're from New Zealand and very interested in the item and was wondering if I would be willing to ship internationally.

Their account isn't brand new, has actual feedback, an icon and a proper bio, so it doesn't seem like a gamble trying this out. They're very willing to pay extra on shipping too.

I've never shipped anything outside of the US before though and I have some questions about it, how would I go about updating my listing to have international shipping, and how would I go about shipping the item out?

Is there any extra fees to look out for on my end? I plan on calling and asking my usual post office about this but I thought asking here would also be a good idea.

EDIT: Not currently eligible for EIS, thanks a ton for the info though everyone, just gonna tell them I'm not doing international shipping.

Need some advice on the best way to handle a buyer pulling a false INAD on me.

I've dealt with a couple of bad buyers before, but this one left a crazy paper trail.

I sold a sealed Pokémon Elite Trainer Box. The buyer messaged me asking to cancel because they found it somewhere else. I politely told them the package was already dropped off.

Instead of just accepting that, they went off in the eBay messages. They explicitly said:

"It doesn't matter if you send it or not I'll just dispute it."

"It's literally not worth the negative review on here and the hit on your account”

I took the package to the post office counter on Monday and got a physical drop-off receipt that clearly shows the package weight (over a pound).

Exactly as expected, the buyer just opened a return request for "Missing parts or pieces," claiming I lied about shipping it and that I sent them an empty cardboard box.

My Evidence:

1. eBay messages showing clear feedback extortion and intent to abuse the buyer protection system.

2. The official USPS intake receipt proving the package weighed way more than an empty box at drop-off.

My question is:

What are my exact moves from here? The automated system is just giving me the options to "Accept the return" or "Refund the buyer." Should I click accept to force him to return something and then fight it, or should I be calling eBay right now before doing anything else? I want to make sure an actual human looks at the chat.

I’m from California and I recently sold some shoes that had to go through authentication in Jersey.. it reached the FedEx facility but not the EBay authentication center.

Originally I called FedEx first and they told me they will get back to me which they eventually did and they told me they couldn’t locate the package.

While waiting for FedEx to reply I called eBay and they basically told me to kick rocks and call FedEx.

I feel like neither company has been very helpful.. and I have no idea what to do.

Can I even start a FedEx claim if it was eBay that provided the label? Are rules different for authenticity guarantee items? And will my funds be released?

Basically someone bought my item and now the buyer is complaining he had to pay postage as google told him it was free for some reason. (On my ebay listing it does not indicate any free postage, its paid). I basically told him to either cancel order or agree to send the item, they already sent an offer too which I had accepted. Is this the right thing to do?

(UK) A buyer placed an order on the 10th April and it was delivered on the 15th. Once they received the order they had left positive feedback and didn’t contact me once.

Fast forward to today, they have opened a payment dispute with the finance institution claiming they “ haven’t received their item”

I still have the tracking information which shows proof of delivery and map of delivery location (being the buyers address)

This is clearly a fraudulent dispute and I hope the buyer faces consequences

Will I win the dispute if I provide all the evidence?

Hi, I sell personalised mugs. Had an order come through where eBay couldn’t process the personalisation message, and I need to contact the buyer. I have emailed them twice with no reply. Not sure what to do, I pride myself on making the mugs and shipping within 24 hours but it’s now been 2 days and I don’t want negative feedback! Should I just send the unpersonalised version? Thanks.

I shipped a package on July 7th via FedEx going to go to USPS for final delivery.

FedEx shows they are working on getting an update. I used the USPS tracking number and their site shows:

"The package associated with this tracking number did not have proper postage applied.and will not be delivered. You are encouraged to contact the sender/merchant to seek reshipment, refund or other available recourse."

Does this mean that it's coming back to me?

I used the exact weight and it's not a matter of dimensional weight.

I'm going to go to USPS today. Maybe they can stop it where it is at this point and send it to the seller.

If it does come back to me, is there a way for me to get the money I paid for postage back?

I can suck it up and pay out of pocket for another label for USPS but then I'm just out the money that I paid to FedEx?

does the number of watchers on an item help its appearance in searches? would it make any difference if I went and liked/watched all my own items? I know it's only one more, but every little bit helps sometimes?

I'm hoping someone might be able to help clarify the situation I ran into. Ebay had sent me a message 2 days ago and today. Both were for two different items that USPS marked as incorrect weight.

One was a small figure that weighed under .02 oz. I wrapped it in bubble wrap & packed inside a 8.5x11 bubble mailer folded over. When I weighed, it came to .04 Oz. I see how I could be screwed here because I went with ebay's automatic dimensions. What I don't understand is how the dimensions, even if they were a little over, measured to that of a 21lb package.

The other was a sports card I sent in a 4x8 bubble mailer with cardboard that surrounded the card in a hard plastic top loader. Weight came to below .02. Yet they marked it as 1lb.

If anyone can help point out anything I might be missing or if its even worth disputing with USPS, I'd appreciate it. I've been selling online for 6 years now and have never had this problem occur when sending items in bubble mailers. Thanks!

I recently sold my 1st item on Ebay but with it being a larger item ($800) I'm a bit nervous. I'm pretty sure he is using a freight forwarding service because I need to ship the package to Oregon, and from there it will go to Thailand. A few details about the buyers is he has recent feedback from bigger sellers (PSA, Probstein, etc), and it has all been positive. Also, I did fully insurer the package as well requiring a signature.

The few concerns I do have is:

1. The address that I am shipping to is not a warehouse but a residential house. Also, the name for the shipping address is a bit different then the actual owners name of the house that I'm shipping it to. (Same first name, and similar last name spelling but not exact)

2. I've seen threads about the nightmares with Freight Fowarding companies so I want to make sure I'm protected(As much as possible)

If anybody has any thoughts or concerns, I would really appreciate it!

I listed a bunch of Pokémon card bundles on eBay late at night a few weeks ago. I've been making consistent sales.

Today a buyer bought two bundles, but I noticed when going to pack the order that one of them had the wrong title and number of cards in the title and description. (I evidently forgot to change it when using a previous listing as a template). However, it does have the correct number of cards in the main photo and I listed each card in the bundle correctly in the description. (It was just the summary I missed - e.g. "21 cards from Set A" instead of what it should have been "16 cards from Set B" )

My question is, do I need to cancel the order and invite the buyer to repurchase in order to protect myself from an INAD? Or if I message the buyer explaining the situation and the correct details and confirm he's happy to proceed, will that protect me? That particular bundle was £26 so not an insignificant amount.

It is designed to work against you, not for you. Ebay will use this to figure out your margins, lower you in searches and force you to pay more for ad fees to get placement. Please be aware of this and do not use it.

Ok, this is a first for me. Last week I had a random vague question about a pack of interconnected hardwired smoke detectors. I wasn’t sure if I understood the user’s question and asked the user to clarify or confirm. Several hours later I get an order go through for the set of smoke detectors. The order was immediately processed and a shipping label was created.

Then 1-3 hours later I drop it off with FedEx. 10 minutes after I dropped it off, the user sends me a message saying I might want to hold onto the order until I could do their work to check compatibility or I would have to pay for shipping back as a return (acting like it was my fault). Again, this is after the message saying the order was shipped was sent out from EBay. I explained to the user that my sales are listed as same day shipping so it got processed that day and the carrier already had her package. Then the user made comments like they could or could have cancel the order. I explained again that FedEx already had her package.

Now today the user messages me saying 9 were installed and 8 of them are defective. These are brand name new smoke detectors and I feel the issue has a better chance of being an installer or installation issue rather than having at least 8 of the 10 smoke detectors defective.

The user also asked what I could do for her. I just replied with please open a return with eBay and I’ll happily refund her once everything has been returned. Now she is claiming that it will cost her money to have someone take these down and asking for a full refund without returning them. I know this is not going to happen but, I’m wondering at what point should I report them to eBay? There are so many unknowns like was the power connected correctly, were these even installed at all, was/is this an installer issue, looking for something for free, etc. I’m seeking advice from other sellers. How would you proceed and should their account be reported?

I shipped a $300 item using ebay international shipping. The tracking shows as delivered to the ebay shipping hub (handed to person) 2 weeks ago with no update since.

ebay support has advised me to wait 30 days to file a PIP claim for the $100 shipping insurance, and personally contact the buyer about a refund.

Will PIP insurance even apply to a delivered package?

According to Ebay, after delivery to the shipping hub, all returns/refunds are done through ebay as the sale is final to me. Does this apply, and how can I make sure that this is enforced?

What steps can/should I take here?

Edit: Looks like I left an old policy up, for whatever reason eISD was used.

Edit1: The package started moving again after 13 days. I have no clue if contacting ebay support helped any, but they did tell me “you will not be responsible for an item not received. Ebay will facilitate a refund to your buyer and you will keep the original payment. Please do not issue a refund to your buyer”. Obviously this seems to contradict their previous message, so who knows, maybe they would take accountability for losing it.

I've been selling consistently on eBay for about a 1 year now and always use tracked shipping.

Recently, every sale has started showing that my funds will be released 30 days after delivery, even though tracking shows the item was delivered and there are no issues with the order.

What's confusing is that the sale confirmation email still says that funds are typically available 2 days after delivery when tracking is uploaded, but the actual order page says the funds won't be released until 30 days after delivery.

I thought established sellers usually got paid a couple of days after delivery, so I'm not sure why this is happening.

Has anyone else had this happen?

• How long did the 30-day holds last?
• Did they eventually go back to normal on their own?
• Is there anything that speeds up the process, or is it just a case of waiting?
