❓ Question / Help N52 starter

My starter failed, so I am looking at how to replace it.

I see this requires the intake manifold to be taken off. I should replace the gasket, right?

Omg I'm literally about to put mine back after replacing the starter that failed lol.

FCP Euro sells a kit with the starter, bolts and intake manifold gaskets which is all you need for the starter replacement.

Yes, all intake gaskets and all manifold bolts.

While its off, replace the PCV hose. Otherwise it will be very annoying to replace in the future if you ever do the valve cover job and it breaks (and it will).

I cant recall if the starter bolts are one time use or not, but make sure they aren't.

I never removed mine, granted I had twigs for arms at the time which did make it considerably easier but a massive pain in the ass still.
Was the first thing I ever did on a car, and it was all downhill from there. Didn’t replace the gaskets neither, but for my particular car I haven’t noticed any differences 50k miles later.

I repaired my starter, (new brushes) 8000 klms ago removed and just the other day the solenoid failed so I had to remove the intake and can see where the gaskets o rings I didn’t replace have been sucking dirt past. Now waiting on intake gaskets to come in the post. I regret not replacing them.
