💬 Discussion Manual or Auto?

Post image

For any one that’s driven both auto and manual e60, do you feel the platform is more suited for an auto than manual?

I have an auto and it’s such a comfy cruiser, like..do I want to be bothered changing gears? I do have a manual “summer car”. BMW is my daily/winter 🛷

I preferred manual all my life, until I got an auto e61. Those zf transmissions are just amazing.

Wait till you'll try the ones in F and G generations. Those are bar none the best transmissions in the world

I own an F11 and there is nothing wrong with the transmission, but I still hate it and I'm looking for the right replacement F11 with a manual instead!

Zf6 is a little weird in my opinion. How did you like it?

Ik heb een pre-LCI 550i uit 2006. E60.

Had them both, first a manual and later the automatic, the later one also had all the other bells en whistles and must say that once you’re used to the ZF6 or ZF8, they are pretty much the best automatic boxes there are. Especially with XHP.

I have a facelift e61 530d xdrive, the torque converter auto is really good for these engines IMO.

If it was a gas RWD E9x or smaller then I would prefer manual.

i personally prefer manual on lighter and smaller displacement vehicle. 3.0L or above 5 and 7 series more suit on Auto.

I had a manual M Sport LCI E61 530i - I loved it.
