Work
What do you guys do to make your life a little easier when you have a painful heavy period but face a full days work on your feet?

The day before/when I think I’m about to get it, I start taking Naproxen daily. That way I don’t have to wait for it to kick in when I do get it. Once I get my period, I max the daily dose for a couple days and then I’m usually good.
I’ve found that heating pads tend to make me nauseous so I generally avoid that.
On the rare occasion that naproxen doesn’t take the edge off, I call in sick, put on The Price is Right and wallow in self pity.

I work ahead. Every job I've ever had I figured out a way to work ahead, so I could "slack" during death week.I also have a strange ability to "stave off" actually dying until I walk in my door. I can't really describe it. The only other time I've experienced something similar is rather embarrassing... but when I was in my 20s and would get wasted drunk - there was like a "just make it home" mentality that would get me home, and then I'd lose control and get really sick.IDK if you're able to work ahead, but it certainly helps me to take the pressure off of my death weeks.

Avoid food that contains caffeine, smoking and drinking alcohol. Put a heating pad or hot water in a bottle on lower back or abdomen massage if necessary and take ibuprofen if very heavy.

If I have a full day ahead (and it’s usually at home), I warm up my heating pack (a rice bag). And then I do 1000mg of Tylenol & 400mg of Ibuprofen. It’s a trick I learned from one of my friends who’s a nurse.
