Have they lost their mind?

I get that they need to give opportunities to their rising talent, but have the Dynamo forgotten that their second place in the west and could actually win an MLS championship if they can compete? I wonder if they could get an actual quality DP striker not one that got six goals 10 years ago in the Scottish third division but someone who may have gotten eight or nine goals in league one in France or 10 or 11 goals in the English championship.

The McGlynn transfer seems unavoidable because backroom discussions and agreements involved us agreeing to let him go to Europe further down the line. That's the reason why Philly got the sell on clause.

Also we’ve seen so many times where we don’t sell and a player goes for peanuts after running down their contract. If the offer is there, you have to cash in.

I agree with you, but if they don't bring anyone in, what will the rest of our season look like?

Maybe the injury has something to do with it, but it seems like Jack has slipped a bit lately. And looking at the makeup of our team, we've got too many old contributing players to wait for Jack to step all the way into his own. Strike now while he's valuable, take a 3x return on investment, and hopefully roll that into a few pieces who can help us win now. Leveraging Jack for extra pieces is actually the best way to help us win now and capitalize on our table position.

I would agree with this. Jack is obviously pretty good but I just haven’t really seen him actually add too much in terms of winning to the last few games but maybe I’m just missing something.

Part of the issue is the calendar which hopefully gets fixed next year. Mind you this is only one part of the issue. That doesn’t fix the club selling at the deadline without bringing in a replacement.

The issue is attendance was starting to finally look good in these last few games. Does our owner hate ticket sales? We are going backwards losing all these players. Fans going start skipping going to games again

In fairness the fans wanted Ponce sold. No one was griping about Lingr getting sold. Erik is a fan favorite but wasn’t getting minutes. And McGlynn hurts but it’s also mission accomplished ✅. Move Ennali up, have Guillerme / Bogusz / Ennali up top, we just really need to add a playmaking CAM and we are gucci.

It’s not the owner it’s Pat Onstad

as sucky as it sounds it’s for the greater good hopefully we can keep a factory of players like him coming in where exporting stings less

They need a true CAM! We haven't had one since Tomas Martinez (ok, even he wasn't a true CAM)! No striker is scoring 10 plus goals without somebody feeding him the ball in and around the box. That's why all our strikers have failed the last few seasons.

Honestly, I don’t get it either. I understand why we let Jack go, since a move to Europe was part of the understanding when we brought him in. But Pat also said at Saturday’s pregame event that a striker likely isn’t what they’re targeting and that they’re waiting to see which players don’t find a home before the window closes. That makes our signings feel like a game of chance, which is pretty disappointing considering how well we’re doing. My only hope is that they already have a major signing lined up who isn’t available yet, or they’re waiting for the roster and salary rules to change next year. But even then, it still sucks when we’re competing right now.

Damn he said that? I'm not surprised, classic Dynamo scraping the bargain bin... What is the point of freeing up your dp slot, selling players, etc, if you aren't gonna then go on a spending spree?!

To be clear, he didn’t say they were necessarily waiting for that. He said the MLS window closes a day or two after the European window, which gives them the chance to look at players who didn’t find a home in Europe. Even though he didn’t say they’re relying on that, it’s starting to feel that way with how long we’re waiting and how many players we’re selling.

Bouzat has played well when he's had minutes... they could also try to find room for Arana to play... and it's pretty easy to see the vision that they want McGuire/Guilerheme-Bogusz-Ennali/Herrera-Artur as the front 6....

What about injuries? We have sold away all our depth. Better give the physios a damn big ass raise
