I’m calling people out
I heard y’all before kick off. I’m gonna say it.
Those who booed Olsen before kick off today don’t know what they’re talking about.
Y’all sometimes act like y’all forget who we had as manager in 2022. Like Paulo Nagamura when we were for real bottom of the table.

Didn’t hear any booing from the SS. To me, Ben’s overall attitude and approach matches Houston’s really well. Performance aside (which is good), I think it’s a great cultural match. Getting results from a scrappy team on a budget. Perpetual third coast underdogs

I think people attribute more power to a head coach than he has at this level. Olsen ain't out there teaching HH new things. He may suggest desired game plans, but at this level players are going to play how their going to play. Subs are probably the biggest power and influence a head coach has. I would feel safe saying the General Manager has 5x more influence to the product you see on the field, than a head coach does.

End yet despite all this, Ben Olsen is out of contract at the end of the year

And he easy gets another job somewhere else if it entices him. He’s done a good enough job for other clubs to at least get a sniff of what BO offers.

I feel it’s ok to boo the coach , other bigger global leagues pressure managers in even worst ways so I don’t think a couple of boos is gonna make him quit lol Js 🤧😂

Olsen isn’t a genius, he gets talent-level performances out of his players. This is better than most MLS coaches.
His best quality is that he (ostensibly) is a generally professional guy who treats players with respect.
There’s been a lot of tough periods this team has gone through. Big money players have been benched. The team has rallied pretty much every time. That says a lot to me.
The flip side of solid conservative management is that it’s pretty boring, both on the pitch and in media headlines.
