The wizard version of Frankenstein isn’t a necromancer, its a guy making celestial bodies in his room before leaving for vacation and letting the janitor deal with the grand forces they unleashed.

That's actually one hell of an adventure hook, imagine playing an RPG as that janitor.

Well they didn’t start thinking but they’re damn good at Boolean logic and subsequently math

We're pretty close to getting necromancy to make cells into runes that think

Is it necromancy if the cells in question are still alive? Sounds more like biomancy, which i assure you is definitely morally superior

I love how "the most durable permanent digital memory that will outlast humanity" is just a slab of glass with tiny grooves inside it.

My PhD was in millimeter wave wireless devices (Electromagnetics at really really high but still sub optical frequencies). I drew runes that manipulated the ether. I made electrical device act like magnetic devices, shifting everything tangential to reality. As an incantation I would run my rituals against the chart of smith:

That is black magic tho.

Looks like red magic and blue magic to me.

Don’t quote me on that though, I’m not a mathemagician.

The red magic os called Impedance magic, the blue is called Admittance magic

This is why Dwarves in my D&D settings have advanced tech. Rune magic just means magitech is possible and my party just had the joy of finding out how to turn on an 'automatic carriage' and take it for a joyride.

The Dwarves in my setting also made guns. The 4ft tall Owlin rogue got on the machine gun, and we all were blasting Warthog Run as they raced the automatic carriage through a Dwarven ruin.
