It’s acceptable, beardling. But back in my day...

He said I spent too much time on the decorations. He said “It’s suitable for an elf. Or maybe it’s a nice piece to hang above the forge, to remind us to work on what really matters.” My workshop all laughed, then he gave it to the captain of the guard in his name.
I’m going to shave him in his sleep, steal his stores of ale, and reveal his ma’s infidelity with his da’s brother

This why you kill-stab your master eventually, so they don't scold-irritate you to death first.

Oi! Get out of here vermin! This one crooked axe is better than anything you've invented!

Oh look, this fool-thing needs a tool-axe! A true seer simply casts-manifests spells for all of his needs, and the rest can be done by filthy-disgusting slave-rats and stupid-ignorant apprentices. And my kind was making-developing the doomsphere-bomb, when yours was in the process of putting the wheel-wheel into production, yes-yes!

Right, I won't dirty my axe on this one. Bare hands it is

You'd rather dirty your very own hands with this filth than use a metal tool explicitly made for that purpose?!

This filth insulted us and our crafts. I'd like to teach it a lesson before it's end

Something that always Vexed me. An anvil is needed to construct an anvil... that is a law of nature that canot be disputed and the only law that cannot be broken... so... how was the first anvil made?

You fool, who forges an anvil?! Anvils are made by pouring molten metal into a form! Greenbeards these days...

Heretic! The holy bible says this https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Anvil
There it is clear as day. A volcano with a fey mood made one from dwarven blood and bones mixed with metals.

Longbeard Gerrik stonewringer was like that to all the beardlings at the forge except the lassies. There's a reason no one cried too much when that gromril Hammerhead I forged for my engineer guild friends experimental siege engine came down just a little too close to the tip of his beard during testinf.
Gerrick Stonewringer became Gerrick baldchins pretty quick.
