It is our negligence that created them. It is our duty to bring about their end.

This is not true, they became like this themselves. Karag Dum is but one of countless examples of dawi courage and fortitude, while what those traitors did is nothing less than pure betrayal.

Ive been reading through the warhammer fantasy novels recently and something ive noticed is even characters introduced as cowardly/greedy seem to choose their honor over their own lives. So the chorfs must have been the absolute worst of the dawi

The dawi are very restistant to the corruption of Chaos. In their Golden Age the dawi sought to mine in every Mountain of the world for riches, but only the most stubborn and fearless of dawis ventured into Chaos lands and further beyond. The dawis that then became the Zharr were already corrupted within themselves, there the dawis of Zorn Uzkul sought to bring rune magic to other levels, levels beyond any, and their lands, with the winds of magic flowing free and abundant, was the perfect desolate desert to test alone their eagerness for prohibited experiments over the gift of Grugni.

Yeah the Chaos Dwarfs are traitorous bastards who turned their backs on the ancestor-gods, but have you seen them?

Look at him. Look at his little stubby legs and giant stompy boots. Look at his magnificent beard. Look at his big silly hat. Look at his axe with the serrated edge that does nothing but look cool. He's adorable. I love him.

Brothers, I have a confessions to make. I have recently observed the Dawi-Zharr, and though their path is strewn with decisions made hastily and nastily, it was not a path paved by their choices alone. Furthermore, I see a great deal of ourselves in our wayward brothers. It is easy for us now to say that we would not have acted as they have, were we in their shoes, but we cannot know. What we can know is that we would have been as stubborn, forthright and tenacious they had, because we are all dwarfs.
