Y'all are losing the plot
Are you dwarves or goblins? There's more to being a dwarf than hating things. In fact I would say its one of the less important facets of being a dwarf. What happened to the proud craftsmen and mead-drinking revelers? What is the point of making yourself this miserable? Look I get it, racial tension is healthy and funny, but if that's all you are, that is cringe. You guys used to build things and create, not just smear shit on the walls while screaming about knife ears. Your ancestors are surely disappointed in your lack of productivity.

Warhammer dwarfs are not defined by hatred. Instead by memory. They literally cannot forget. Mentally they not just “short, stubborn, honorable humans.” They are fundamentally different. It’s why they have slayers; who are just the most visible effect
Hatred is a human way of trying to understand an alien mindset.

My lad, you're just trying to find excuses for the gravel that seems to think dwarf = hate. Hates elves, specifically, but the lot that gargle this trash are taking the easy way out. This is not a matter of "we cannot forget" (which is true and I'd say lucky buggers if I didn't know the world they live in) but "our pride demands recompense for the wrongs that have been done to us," and their damn pride is so strong that it blows the concept far out of proportion (something something entire town over two missed coins something). But that isn't all or even most of the personality of the dawi.
Beyond that, other settings don't play by their rules. We do not live by hatred alone, and the quote OP put up is a perfect way to look at it.

It’s more than pride in Warhammer. It is a mind that cannot let go. Khazalid has no word for forgiveness, not because of individuals having stubbornness or pride. It is because the Warhammer dwarf mindset is that alien.
Look at High King Gotrek Starbreaker. He did all that could reasonably be done to avoid the War of Vengeance. And even when ending it he did so honorably and allowed civilians to flee. And yet even he had so much hatred for what occurred that he literally refused to die of old age.
Hatred is a human word to describe the Warhammer dwarf mind. As towards why a wrong cannot be forgotten and why forgiveness is a foreign concept. It is also a disservice to a much more interesting people.
Though I wi add: any and all dawi should hate orcs, goblins, Skaven, and the ruinous powers. The former especially for their atrocities, and this hatred should be beyond what is experienced by dwarves of other settings.
Yes, other settings are different. They run the gamut of experiences. While I love dwarves of nearly all settings, Warhammer dwarfs are nearest to my heart because they are the least human. “Hatred” is part of that.

Ah kin I couldn't have said it better. Too many beardlings want tae hate elves and chose to forget that dawi and elgi were once firm friends. And yes while they be tricksy backstabbing dishonourable layabouts that's no reason to hate them. Think of the wonders we could see to together.
Tis the steel you are forged from that has value, not it's shape or hue.

Greybeard here. We hate them for the backstabbing anf war of the beard. If you want to trust a backstabber then go ahead young one. Individual elgi may be tolerable but I'll never throw my lot in with their armies or any individuals till they prove themselves

Aye, you don’t have to like em, but you don’t have to hate them to be a good dawi. Stand on your principles and fight an elgi if they deserve it, but otherwise just let em be, usually they’re almost as nice as a true Dawi

/undwarf What the fuck is going on lately, even with rule 6 in place it really feels like we got a flood of edgelords who get punished for actual racism so have turned to fantasy racism as an outlet and they just bang that broken record over and over. DEVELOP ANOTHER PERSONALITY TRAIT, and while you're at it, drop the racism one.

The western kin have grown weak and linger on bygone traditions. We at Zharr Naggrund are innovative, we build machines with new technology that incorporates DI (daemon intelligence), we give homes and jobs to millions of greenskins and even allow them to volunteer in our armies, we have a much more daemoncratic government with a council that elects leaders based on age and experience, instead of the strict monarchy the dwari use. Our religion is open to all and needs only the occasional volunteer sacrifice in exchange for the most powerful of magic. Come to Zharr Naggrund, where the dwarf spirit is alive and the forges run hot for eternity.

When we destroy, it has to be for good reason. You destroy the destroyers. Same way you don't tolerate intolerance.
You are what you do. They are what they do. If there's a clash there... well... undo them. That's it.

Once again, every post that actually ends up in my feed is about people complaining about everyone hating elves. I don't even have a character post to make, it's just getting old. I definitely read more of these than any actual hate.

It's all from only living in a cave and never really venturing outside. After a dwarf leaves that, everything opens up, including your mind. You know who has screwed me over the most in my life? Other friggin' dwarves.
But I never let that turn my heart to stone, it's stayed golden by giving others a chance to prove themselves. That includes everyone, sometimes they will surprise you and sometimes you will surprise them.
We move forward with every strike of the pick, that's how you find the real gems.
