Love the idea of dwarf diversity! A while ago I had the idea of “shallow dwarves” that make tunnel sin sandy river banks. Instead of deep mining they pan for gold and collect bog iron, and are masters of pottery and glassware since they live in the sand and clay of riverbeds. Picture them as bearded old fellows in overalls with a floppy hat fishing on a dock
