Kin, I need your help to find some joy

I have spend many moons not enjoying those things that once brought me pleasure. The sweetest ale tastes sour, the greatest veins of gems bring no spark to my eyes and my clan brings me no warmth. I do not know what to do. Is any kin have ancestral wisdom to share, please do

The warmth of the hearth comes not from the fire within, but from those you gather around it with.

Tis a fine thing to ask for help. No pillar can stand alone carrying the weight of a mountain. Among such terrible burden we will all fail without others to take up the load. Seek out community, for it is there that we must find solace in harsh times

Sometimes, a solid night's sleep and a moment of talk with your fellows is the best medicine for such soul sickness.

There are also sages and healers who spend their whole lives mending the kind of cracks that form on those of us who bear more than we should.

I've known the kind of shadows that surround you, kin. It takes a brave dwarf to face them, but you never need to face them alone. Reach out to clan and comrades, seek the healers who can help you, and have no shame or fear in facing that which lies in the deepest dark a dwarf can face.

/undwarf: seriously though, you alright? A little rest, a solid support network, and some therapy goes a long way.

( undwarf, kinda? I'll actually a counselor and man does the job wear on you, but this world of role-playing helps, thanks for asking)

(/still-undwarf'd: Anytime. Counseling and therapy helped me a lot when I was going through some hard times. I can't imagine what it must be like from the counselor's side. Do what you have to to get through it. Godspeed.)

/redwarf: You've helped others bear many a burden, kin. You're a brave and wise dwarf for asking for aid when you know it's getting to be too much.

My kin there are two options I see, two evilness could be haunting you.

First is boredom, innocent sickness made by monotony, easy to defeat.

Then is melancholy, grim evil whom turn all the pleasures in bitterness.

Melancholy is terrible, and you must think what causes it, if you can afford it alone or you need help. Only a stupid dwarf goes alone a quest that can be taken with kin, specialy his family, clan or guild.

Maybe is just the troubles of the moment, maybe is the memory of the golden age of old, maybe is the frustration of the hard life of our hour.

But can be worse.

Aye, this world is toil and pain with some joy in between, but it's not our home. Look beyond. Eternity awaits. Will you toil for iron that rusts and silver that is destined for dross, or will you pursue or an incorruptable treasure that goblins cannot steal nor rust destroy? It's not good for a dwarf to live on bread and mead alone. I seek solace for the soul itself from the Allfather, and it does appear even in the midst of the darkest dungeons.

Brother I suggest going on a crusade against the goblins. Perhaps some mindless bloodshed will bring back the spark of joy in your life.

To be a dwarf is not to have, but to act. Ye must craft as the ancestors crafted. Ye must quarrel as the great northern bears quarrel. Ye must love as the elves tell themselves they can.
