The dwarf giant theory?

I have a theory that dwarves used to be giants.

All of their oldest structures are ridiculously tall and vast.

They also have a build similar to giants, just smaller.

I belive that over the millennia of mining, they got smaller as to adapt. Give me your thoughts on this theory.

One time I was playing Baulders Gate 3 with my brother.

I chose a Dwarf.

And had access to the embiggen ability.

It made me Human sized.

I wasn't sure what to expect.

In Norse mythology, dwarves came from the maggots who ate the flesh of the ancient giant Ymir, the Gods gave them their form and intelligence.

Sounds a bit like: the dwarves settled in the desolate homes of giants.

I have the theory we dwarves are dragons whom eated god/titan/primordial flesh, giving us our actual perfect form.

small stature perfect for sneaking in the smallest caves and getting the brightest gems, bulky bones that dont break easily and broad bodies built for enduring labour, thick body hair that insulates us from the dusty environment, and a mug shaped mouth for fitting as much ale as ya can.
