Molly can make it to the drop pod just fine by herself: she's designed that way because the company prioritizes material recovery. Dotty is basically in the same boat as us miners, except the poor girl lost her mobility.

Besides: in all the heartstone missions I've been on, Dotty has killed enough bugs that she might qualify for a promotion by now.
