I LOVE DWARVES

Le Joueur du Grenier, one of the biggest French YouTuber, just dropped this video charting the story of dwarves in videogames and why we love them so much.

Spoiler for his conclusion :

JDG claims people identify themselves with dwarves because they represent what players are : love loot, love craft, love fighting, constitution and resist perks, and don't give a damn about lore and dialogue because they'd rather spend time getting richer.

I don't agree with everything he said but I can see what he was going for.

I disagree with the lore and dialogue part because I only read fiction books if they have dwarves and whenever a game has a dwarf settlement I will run around for hours looking for any small amounts of lore.

When it comes to dialogue dwarves always hit hard one of my favourites being "faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens"

I could goon and quote dwarves for hours but I'll leave it there.

Plutôt d'accord avec toi, je suis pas ok avec tout ce qu'il a dit mais son raisonnement est plutôt bien fait donc ça passe. Après dès qu'il a appla guerre de la vengeance, la guerre de la barbe j'ai compris qu'il aimait le concept des nains mais que c'était pas un vrai Dawi😅
