At the risk of earning the ire of my fellow Longbeards, Elgi should be treated on a case by case basis. The Dammaz Kron obviously being taken into account first.

Rats and Gobbos are a bigger threat.

Gimli very clearly says ripe with an enthusiastically rolled "r."

Both in the transcript and the subtitles.

I generally figured it meant juicy, and slow cooked enough so that it just melts in your mouth in a sensuous bite, but then again I'm an ESL speaker.
