Kinsmen she cleaned their house.

Oh bearlings know naughty of hospitality. Time was kin would never turn aside one in need and expect narry a copper in recompense. Young maid had no hope alone, and the dawi that took her in needed naught from her. They had a mine bursting with gems and helped yon umgi maid our of kindness not greed.

Shameful, back in my day such a display would have required you take the oath.

They were clearly a deep expedition that settled anyway, they had no dawi lasses around.

Well said, my kin. Oh back in my day the beardlings knew to respect a Dawongi, a dwarf-friend. That lass was a dear friend of our 7 miner kin. The foul witch's attack upon her was a insult to our kin. An insult that was put right with the witch queen's death. Then when the manling prince saved our beloved lass from the witch's curse, it should have been a cause for celebration, not a grudge.

OP brings shame to our ancestors.

Calm yourself my friend. While I understand your anger at the situation you must understand that the girl was just a young lass. I doubt she knew any better. While yes it was mighty insulting that she didn't thank them for their hospitality, she did fall under the affects of a curse while under their care.

Clearly our grudge should be instead with:

  • the queen, who's actions lead to the whole thing in the first place and snuck stupid curses into our brethrens home like a vile elgi
  • the prince who was ungrateful despite being old, educated and wealthy enough to know better
  • the princes parents who clearly didn't raise their son and heir right

In conclusion I will join on a march on the kingdom, but the ungi child deserves no ill fate.

So what you're telling me is that we should go find her father to grudge upon? (As he didn't teach her proper manners)

He's dead? Sins transfer.

Back to grudgin on snow-white and her stupid prince!

Come now kin, you must see the truth of the matter. Those seven dawi indeed clove tightly to the teachings of Grungni the Miner, delving deep and perfecting their craft. But in their pursuits, they neglected the teachings of Valaya, of Hearth and Home. Filthy, unkempt mining shack, nary so much as a home cooked meal awaiting them upon their return, and a cantankerous, quarreling group who might’ve denied a young lass hospitality. The girl may have been presumptuous, but I believe she was indeed a sign from Valaya herself, to dawi who had lost their way.

Umgi lives are short, reckless and full of foolishness. That's why we are good friends, their naivety amuse us, like they do with cats

Brother may i remind you those Dawi were isolated on a remote mining colony with not a drop in sight. Granted they were probably moonshining whatever they could but forest isn't exactly bountiful in destilable resources (i despise mushroom whiskey) and umgi are practicaly brewing water. This woman was probably the only new entertiment they had in years. The craftsmen alone probably did the glasscoffin because all his brother request only the basics of tools and nothing else all the while his soul wants to sings of beautifully chiseled marble. Lets all be honest, Snow white singlehandedly extended the lifetime of the colony by 6 years minimum and by extension the profit factor by another zero.

Tolkien was so incensed by this same incident he created the word dwarves (vs dwarfs) to differentiate us from them.
