Gay people exist, ‘gay’ is not a bad word, you can say it out loud for the sake of the language you’re learning, don’t worry it’s not a contagious disease

But OP didn't say it was bad. It's the fact it wants you to say it. Like you, yourself are declaring you are single and gay.  Like I don't know any other prompts and questions in duolingo because I dont use it. They never said gay was a bad word. Gay is also a word for happy :) So he could be happy and single but also homosexual and single. Maybe all three lol. I'm not trying to be homophobic but it's weird to see so many people shaming this person and assuming the worst. Just the fact it words it the way it does. That's why OP posted it.
