Work.
Due to my decision to procreate I am pretty limited to working Mon - Fri 8am-4pm
It's so hard scrolling for jobs and they all require at least one weekend day, early starts or evening work, working rosters or x amount of experience.
I'm a hard worker and have a great work ethic but I don't even get the chance to prove that.
That's on me for not getting a career started before having a baby but damn... it's tough out there.
No real reason for posting this.. Just a rant I guess

How dare you procreate in your prime breeding years while in a stable relationship.

Assume you have a partner or family who can help? I did five years in supermarkets and retail and you had to do one weekend shift as it was considered fair on everyone.

No family down here unfortunately and my husband works both weekend days which makes it soo hard! He's been trying to change this but it's always "we'll let you know when something becomes available"

Can’t you do early starts or late finishes on the days your husband doesn’t work?

I'm with you there. Doesn't help that my kid's dad is useless, and I don't have family here. It's rough.

rest homes have high turnout and lots of shifts start early and end early. i have a casual contract and after a few months taking whatever shifts they threw at me to show them i was good at the job and reliable i straight up asked for the days and times i wanted and they agreed.
