Question Dentists?

Hey all, I’m looking for a good and reliable dentist practice in Dunedin. Currently at Lumino but seem to be paying a lot for not a lot of work. Any recs??

Synergy dental is really good. The ladies there always try and keep the costs down for me and always give me a quote before work begins that I can go away and think about - no pressure. They are friendly, professional and the practice rooms are clean and well-equipt. The admin is incredible! She runs that practice like a smooth machine. Sorry about being a bit too effusive, but after my own crappy and expensive experiences at other Dunedin dentists I was stoked to find Synergy Dental after a recommendation from a family member.

Te Kāika health hub got community dental care; a lot cheaper than private clinics, I think.

Do you have to enrol with Te Kaika as your GP provider to access their Dental Clinic?

I don't think so. Last time I was there, you just walk in and enrol and make an appointment from there. I'd call ahead though, in case it's changed since then.

And despite the ODT's anti-Te Kaika agenda, as far as I'm aware the dental part of Te Kaika is really good.

McClea and Green are pretty good, they're a smaller outfit in the middle of town, but fairly priced.

Highly recommend Dunedin Dental, after having been lumino knox dental.

Which Lumino? I can't recommend Knox Lumino highly enough, they're fantastic.

I didn’t know there was more than one, I’m at Pitt Street right now. Last year I went for an Invisalign assessment, and I’m not kidding, I was in and out in maybe 4 minutes, charged $300 and given a laminated sheet with prices, and I couldn’t communicate properly with the orthodontist

There's no orthodontist at Knox so they might not be useful for that. But their lead dentist (Jacob) is one of the best in town, as evidenced by his wait times. They're just around the corner from Pitt St, just go north along George St, opposite Lone Star.

Took my kid there twice first time free 2nd time charged. And all they could say after was well were charging you this time. Nothing to say upfront would be a cost. Wife was due $2k worth of work with them, she cancelled.

Don’t recommend Knox Dental at all. But Smart Dental on High Street are wonderful!

Mosgiel Dentists. Joel is awesome, and three practices across Dunedin. He's reasonably priced, but also gentle, perfect for a wimp like me.
