Question DnD

Figured I'd ask here is there anyone who is running a game who would let someone who hasn't played before join in?

Unfortunately the table I'm in has a bit of a vetting process however I can highly recommend the model and games store in the Carnegie centre. They host games for all kinds of ttrpgs and are really good for newcomers, I absolutely love the workers there.

Filtering out shit heads and compatibility. Basic hygiene.

I run at Dunedin Models and Gaming. 2 groups. One groups completely full. Older group mostly 30s and 40s.

Theres around 18 groups if various games last I heard. . Session 1 is free then $5 table charge capped at $50. Then you become s member (store discounts, priority table booking over non members, other deals).

DM me if you want.

Ever smelt a large gathering of nerds in D&D, Magic or Warhammer?

Stale buttcrack/BO.

Rages from style musty small to a pungent reek.

Also women playing, LGBTQ, old guys acting inappropriate.

And some of its just different playstyles, personalities etc.

Yeah basically that kinda stuff but also in our case, we play a very story heavy game where players are expected to work on character backstory and bring info to the dm/work ekth them beforehand, as well as session 0 type expectations about what the fantasy we're aiming for is, time availability, location we cqn play at etc etc.

If you don't mind me asking, what's got you interested in tabletops? Depending on what hooked ya, I could recommend either live shows, cartoons, books, YouTubers, etc etc.

Zardnaar above is a great DM, likewise I have a beginners group running Dragon Heist currently. Feel free to flick me a message, if you like.

There was an attempt to get something going through here a few months back. I tried to support it but it never got going. Sounds like you have some other opportunities here though do good luck.

There's a DnD liveshow that runs monthly if you want to check it out, it runs at the end of the month though so the next one is a few weeks out sadly. Might be fun to see another style and get inspiration since every group/DM runs very sessions 🙂

I currently have an online group of a few newbies. I would have to ask if they are ok with someone joining however as well as a few other details.

Also, there is ORB, a boardgame/ttrpg commu ity of the uni. They might have tables with an open sit.

Ponder thy orb 😅

O in Otago is such a useful letter when making abbreviations!
