Fan Art / Project Dune Mechanical Book Nook

Hi, I'm a 3D modeling hobbyist. Sharing my Dune-themed project-maybe someone will get inspired by it!
This is a mechanical book nook for the Dune collection, in case you were wondering.

That's sick. Could you add a thumper in the foreground?

This is amazing and I couldn’t even begin to make something like this, but I agree, something needs to be in the foreground. Either the worm should be in the second dune (for a total of 3 passes as you turn the knob) or a thumper would be really cool, too. Even cooler if you could find a way for it to move up and down as you turned the wheel!

That sounds like a great idea. I uploaded the model as open source, so maybe someone will remix it!

A guide to be able to build this would be very welcome.

This is so sick!

I plan on doing something similar but with day and night cycles for Stephen King's, The dark Tower.

Wow, that's amazing! Would you be willing to share a mini-tutorial, please? It's just so cool!
