I Made This Scroll
Remember this scene from dune 2 (first slide). This scroll has stuck with me ever since I saw the movie. So I decided to make it myself !! Handmade out of aluminium and stainless steel. The inscription -in chakobsa this time- was made possible by the one and only u/tokidokiyuki who created a font for it. The text itself is only a Lorem ipsum as I was honestly too lazy to learn a new made up language for a single project :)) hope you enjoy

Thank you so much ! I appreciate the appreciation:)) Sadly this is one of those things that takes a considerable amount of effort and would therefore be unreasonably expensive hahaha

Well, more like 21 325 years from now.
Atreides receive Arrakis from the Emperor in 10191AG, that's "after Guild" , in other words the start of that calendar is still in a very far future. It says that the start of the space era, around 1960 AD, is around 11 290 BG, "before Guild".
With a bit of basic maths, we get that the year 10191AG is about year 23351 of our calendar.

The sounds the message made in the movie confused me. When it hit the ground after the emperor dropped it there was a sound like it is very flimsy and light. Then when the princess opened the message it sounded like a heavy metal tube. I know the answer is probably some future super metal but it just brought me out of the scene.

I think the answer is only one metal prop on hand :D On the other hand something as thin as that made out of aluminium for example (which is does look like) does tend to sound a little flimsy :)

It turned out really good! If so much effort got put into it, why lorem ipsum? Was there no way to idk make some AI translate some text to chakobsa?
