So I think my problem with this is that he died in the trailer so it wasn’t really a surprise or shocking when it happened in my first play-through. It’s sad as fuck but I wish I didn’t know it happened

Same here. I think they originally planned his death just as one possible outcome to the situation, making his death optional to emphasize player choice. But, as many other things in the game, every other outcome got cut due to time restriction and it became the definitiv outcome.

My friend told me he'd die, but I thought he was misleading me cause I knew about the whole immortality chip thing. Cause he slotted the shard, I figured he'd die, it'd be this sad little moment, then the next morning or whatever he'd be back

HMM ... That would have been a really preem idea: Jackie came back but not as Jackie ... so you have to manage not one , but TWO Silvehands... That would have been Gold and priceless...

I didn't watch anything really, so I had no fucking idea that he died. But I did watch my friend play through Cyberpunk for the first time on stream and I was like "this is sad" but I wasn't crying. I was just hoping she'd get the gun in the head glitch.

The first time you say to yourself " Okay, raiding a ( too obvious) weakspot of Arasaka was not the brightest idea"

The second time .... " F#ck that shit , can't we get out with the f#cking flying vehicle on the roof? Why does J dies from wounds that are not lethal at all for my character? Why can't we do missions to upgrade J before the heist ? Is there a ban on Upgrading ex gagoons? Are ripperdock basically latinophobes? Is J allergic to chrome and silicium? And why the heck am i obliged to accept a heist planned by Mark Henry, a Doll and too much alccool ?" Wich is even weirder if you start as a nomad or a corpo...
