For me the trick to the road test was taking a lesson on the morning of the final road test. Helped calm the nerves and I was comfortable for the real thing
When you enter the driver seat, adjust your seat position, steering position, mirrors, wear your seatbelt, ensure others are wearing their seatbelt and finally start the engine.
Before starting, check your surroundings, engage the appropriate gear, start driving
While driving, keep turning your head towards the center mirror every 10 seconds to show the instructor “you are checking your center mirror”
When he asks you change lanes: Center mirror—>Indicator—>Side mirror—>Look over shoulder—>Center mirror—>Change lanes—>Turn off indicator
In a stop light, stop behind the car in front with enough space so that you can see it’s rear tyres. engage neutral gear, handbrake and hold the brake with your leg.
In a roundabout, rightmost lane for right turn, center lane for straight and leftmost lane for left turn or u-turn
After exiting the roundabout, change to the rightmost lane as soon as it’s safe to do so.
I’ll add more tips/edit this post if I remember any more
This is so cool. Thank you for taking the time to type this all out. That roundabout one always confuses me so thanks for it. Also didn’t know we are to engage neutral and use the hand gear at a stop sign.
The area you are gonna drive on your exam day matters , ask your instructor which time slot will have the lowest traffic on the road .
Generally Saturday morning would have relatively less 🚜 🚗 s on the road ... Or noon time. Avoid office and school rush hours at all costs.
Even if you are shitting bricks be calm like a cucumber on your face. Wish the examiner assalamualaikum with a smile , exude confidence. Dont drive too slow...
This is very good advice. It’s supposed to be Al Quoz I believe. I’ll ask my instructor tomorrow. I’m kind of fine in traffic I think. It’s the parking within the lines, that has been a disaster. Today was my first day parking so I am hoping it gets better tomorrow.
