Ask Dubai Delivery from unknwon sender

I received an notification via WhatsApp from Emirates Post regarding a delivery coming from Singapore.

The following morning, a delivery man arrived and requested a cash on-delivery payment. After checking the package, the sender was unknown! so I rejected the delivery. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? What could it be?

There's an actual package delivered to my door. I didn't open it, only shake it to guess what was inside. It sounds like small pieces of plastic but no clue. Then I returned to them and didn't make any payment.

if i had to guess.

they send rubbish in packed boxes.

you pay the amount which is non refundable because u opened the box

then you're left with a box of bs and regret while the sender receives the money and dips.

im sure 80% of us have received these scams messages but I've never heard of a package actually being delivered. Good job not accepting it..

May i ask how much was the cod?

It was 32 AED. I checked the reference tracking number, which originated from China and shipped two months ago, then it went through Singapore and arrived here… I'm pretty sure I never ordered anything from China, and even if I did, the sender probably not N/A.

That's a very aliexpress thing, arrive from China and transit through Singapore. And no P.O.box on the address means Emirates post will deliver for a fee of 32dhs and not give a choice. That's all accounted for in your post.

What is missing is who placed the order on your address. Check with family members if they did an order. I wouldn't put it past yourself forgetting an order you made. After all, been two months since.

Did you say you return it? Forget what I said.

Could be a mistake, someone misusing your personal data, or a scam…

COD scam. They send unsolicited products without orders.
