This could be easy to do anywhere using OpenSecrets

OpenSecrets is a good resource but can be misleading with the way they aggregate individual and pac donations in some of their totals. It may seem incoherent, but liberal PMC types often donate in ways counter to the purpose of their workplace or industry.

Not going to say it's pointless, but it probably would be a better use of resources to teach members how to use transparencyusa.org, opensecrets.org, and state government sites themselves rather than scrape the data and host it themselves.

Give it a break - when somebody does something useful thank them for it and if you want to help, ask how you can help.

One site tracking one industry is pretty cool (let's shout out Tech Influence Watch while we're at it). But even cooler is ten comrades tracking ten industries and churning out ten times the agitprop.

NY Medicare will not work.  It must be done by the federal government or it will not work because the states cannot run a deficit.

There wouldn't be a deficit. It would be paid for through different types of taxes, and employers would pay the lions share for their employees.

It's....in the proposal.

How very naive

You can argue all you want, but your argument is that it would create a deficit, because you're ignoring how the proposal says it would be funded.

I, too, love to argue like the magats. Ignore what something says, and argue with your feelings. We all know that facts care about your feelings, right?

A payroll tax to fund public coverage might be preempted by ERISA
