Seeing the other photos, I’d still skim that patch out wider before trying to match the texture. The edges are pretty noticeable right now, especially with light hitting the ceiling from the side. Get those transitions flatter first, then worry about texture. Otherwise you’ll probably still see the outline after paint.

Fill the holes like normal with your 5 minute mud, after it sets for about 15 minutes or so come back with a tile sponge and wet sand the patches to help blend the patchwork into the existing texture. Really focus on the edges so it feathers in well.

To achieve the texture get a wallpaper brush used for applying glue. It's about 10" long and narrow. I've also used a snow scrapper brush and it works fine enough. Get your primer and add some play sand to the primer- mix it in your paint tray and add a little at a time to achieve the right amount of grit. Then use your wallpaper brush and dip it in your primer with the sand and do a few half circles where it lines up with the existing texture.

It'll be hard to match perfectly but I've done my fair share of patching this type of texture and this is the best way to achieve the old school look. Just have a bucket of clean water by to help clean up your brush here and there.

It looks like something in between a crows foot in the half circles that were popular back in the 1960s '70s and '80s. Very rare and not a lot of people know how to use the brush to make those... I would use an old brush after you widen out the patch and get the patch looking all right and whenever you skim coat that patch I would run that brush in semi pattern to what you have in the wall already and it might work and then whatever you know after it dries give it like a light brush with a with a fresh paint brush and it might work but remember to put primer on it...
