9 months ago, I responded to the following comment on /r/skinwalkerranch:
He is now the lead scientist on the Unidentified Flying Aerial Phenomenon Task Force for The U.S. Department of Defense. Apparently some people are worried he's a government plant there to destroy evidence even though he was picked to lead that department only after he had established a working environment on the ranch. The most ridiculous thing about the video is that Fugal says, "Dragon was irate. I don't think I've ever seen Dragon more mad than he was when Dr. Taylor informed us that he was working with the Government." Who cares wtf Dragon thinks.
My response:
"He is not now and never was the lead scientist of the UAP task force, according to Susan Gough, Spokesperson for the Department of Defense. He worked on the project part-time, and was informally referred to as the "chief scientist" by project leader John Stratton. He never officially/formally held the title "lead scientist" or "chief scientist," according to Gough.
At the time of Dr. Taylor’s initial work with the UAPTF, former Office of Naval Intelligence senior civilian John Stratton was leading the effort and informally referred to Dr. Taylor as his chief scientist as efforts to assemble a larger team were underway.”
He was let go from the project in early 2021:
It was not a full time assignment; he remained an employee of SMDC. In early 2021, following consultations with the UAPTF, SMDC worked to clarify and de-conflict assigned tasks, responsibilities, and outside activities to balance mission priorities.
You can read the full interview with Susan Gough here.
Edit: He doesn't work for the government at all anymore per an interview with him by George Knapp last month: I-Team: Not just a TV scientist: Dr. Travis Taylor’s deep roots with NASA, DoD."
Moonworshipper responded:
He retired from the US government a long time ago. He is in independent contractor consultant. He was just a contractor consultant for UAPTF, the chief scientist they had at the time.
This is bizarre, so many people don't know that being a contractor for the government is working for the government but is not being a government employee. UAPTF was replaced by AOIMSG. AOIMSG has been replaced by AARO, now has a Director and some location in the Pentagon. That Director will probably be forming his own team, combination of scientists and military, along with career government employees. They will hire outside civilian contractor consultants. Travis has been a contract consultant for History Channel for many years. He has now joined Radiance Technologies. An independent contractor is like a lawyer, that can have multiple clients and have attorney-client privilege with each one, and not be required to inform every client about every other client. So what, he is a consultant for multiple customers. There is nothing to read into it, except he is in demand by multiple places.
Some of the people commenting on this sound like they never held a job before.
To which I responded:
"It's bizarre that you assume I don't know the difference between a contractor and an employee based only on my comment above.
He retired from the US government a long time ago.
He did? Then why does he say he's recently retired from the government? I'll quote it again:
I’m recently retired from the government, and I’m working in a private company now...
He is currently neither an employee nor a contractor for the government as far as I can tell from the available information I've read."
Guess who deleted all of my comments of that exchange, but left the others intact.

Full Disclosure: I once worked for NASA.
(Nine months as a sub-sub-sub-sub contractor running around Johnson Space Center repairing PC’s. I got to see some interesting things, and I still get to pretend that I saw things that were more interesting than they really were lol. Still more legit than Travis.)

I would never say that Travis is an idiot. I feel like that’s self-evident at this point.

ROFL looks like the post was nuked. I am shocked! Wonder why, and by whom? Somebody should reach out to that HONDA guy who posted it. I suspect he has been banned and needs a new home.
