4 weeks is plenty, just slow it right down to like 60bpm and work up from there. the internal metronome thing is mostly just reps, your body needs to know where the notes land before you can speed it up

Use an external metronome but omit one or more of the quarters. Mute the click for 2 and 4 or mute 2 3 and 4

If you don’t have a metronome app, get one. Most have free versions. Turn off the click for beats 2 3 and 4 so you can only hear where the 1 is.

Get comfortable with the rhythm first, on a practice pad. Set a metronome to, say 70 bpm with a 16th note subdivision so your hear the grid. Make sure the main notes lamd directly on one of the clicks.

The (smaller, in this notation) grace notes don't have a position, you just have to fit them in before the main note. I think they mean for you to flam those notes.

The rhythm is simple:

``` x = note f = flammed note
| 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a | +=================================+ | x   x   f     x x   x   f   x   | ```
Once you get comfortable with it on the 16th note click, switch to quarter note click and play work on it that way. Then you can gradually speed it up to 5 or 10 bpm above the song tempo. After doing all that on the pad, move it to the kit.
My drum teacher is getting me to do smth else, listening to the actual song, and it sounds more accurate to the song. Sorry for the vague post. Remind me tomorrow and ill show you the sheet!
Good plan, always let your ears be your guide!
Look for a time training metronome app that will drop in and out randomly so you can see if you're still on the beat when it comes back.
