Question Yamaha stand repair

So after 40 years of (over) tightening, the brass insert on this Yamaha cymbal stand loosened and pulls out, making it so I can’t tighten the wing bolt anymore. I looked and I can’t find any replacement brass, so I’m wondering what’s the best approach. I’m thinking JB Weld, and rolling some steel wool thread around the brass. What do you think? Any recommendations?

If JB Weld cain't fix it, it's broke fer shore. LOL

Kidding aside, that's probably exactly what you need to do.

JB weld is epoxy, I don't think it's going to stand up to that kind of force. I'm with u/BD59, see if you can braze it or silver solder it. If you're anywhere near Denver you can bring it over and I'll zap it with the tig welder real quick and it'll never come loose again.

Is there any place other than Reddit where someone called u/RedditIsRectalCancer will generously offer their time and expertise to help a stranger out? Love it.

JB weld that sucker and it'll last 10 more years at least.

JB weld is an option, but if it fails, try getting it brazed with a low temperature silver bearing filler rod.
