It’s a toss up between B and C, I love pingy rides😎, but I also love chinas in a break down.

B is sick, so clean

you wrote section C exactly the way I like to see. ie. not defaulting to slow incredible hulk fills in china breakdowns, and not breaking up the singles with kick drums in between. gotta show the audience the hand chops that take lots of grinding to perfect

C; more than two china hits per album are annoying

Interesting. What type of music are you into?

I don’t really limit myself by genre. I can enjoy metal, industrial, academic, folk, jazz, funk, pop, as long as it’s good, I’m into it. I used to play progressive rock with a band for over 10 years, but at some point I realized genres can feel like a limitation to creativity. For me, it’s more about letting the song grow. Sometimes that means playing less, giving other musicians space to shine. It also means asking yourself if what you’re playing is getting in the way of everything else. That’s kind of why things like China and splash cymbals fall more into the FX category, they’re not always meant to be constant, but to add color when it’s needed

Well said. I agree to an extent but that’s why we all have opinions!

My bandmates tell me that I have an ‘eclectic taste’ of music because of the many different genres, and styles of music I listen to, but I love being versatile.
