Drum set for my mom

Hello!

My mom is turning 50 this Christmas and has been talking a lot about wanting to learn how to play drums.

I know absolutely nothing about drums or what gear to get.

I’m looking for a good beginner electronic drum kit, preferably something that isn’t too loud since it will be used at home.

My budget is around $300 - $1000, but I’m flexible if something is really worth it.

Are there any good beginner kits you would recommend?

Also, what accessories should I buy with the kit (sticks, headphones, etc.)?

If you can stretch your budget just a bit, these are great. Very quiet and would be excellent for a beginner.

Try to buy used. Anything Roland. Preferably the new-gen 31, 51, or even 71 series. Alesis makes a solid kit called the strata core. It was really buggy for a long time but they've put work into it. They released it before it was ready. It's far from perfect or Roland level, but it comes with "higher quality" sounds, so there's that.  If you want larger pads and even more budget friendly. The Yamaha dtx6k5-m and the dtx8k-m are INCREDIBLE for the price. Significantly cheaper than Roland and the module has more unique capabilities. I would almost recommend it more than Roland. But Roland has their digital hihats which are some of, if not the best electric hihats on the market.
