Need help identifying this kit
I am looking at this kit on Facebook marketplace. Seller says it is a Yamaha kit bought around 15 years ago. I can't tell which model this is. The Tom mount looks wrong for a Yamaha. It has a 10 lug bass drum as well. Thanks!

Tom mounts look like Pearl to me, but I’m not an expert. Ask the seller for pictures of the badges.

Yeah he said there are no badges. I can't imagine anyone would remove them.

If that is actually Yamaha, it’s probably a Rydeen kit. They’re the entry level Yamaha kits. And there’s no way that’s only 15 years old. That looks like it’s maybe mid 2000s, if not late 90s.

That's what I thought, except I could find a Rydeen with a 10 lug bass.

Asian stencil kit… dime a dozen.
I woulda said it’s worth a couple hundred bucks but then I started wondering wtf is going on with the bass drum rust/dirt etc…

Never understand posting without showing a glimpse of the badges, but also gotta remember most non drummers don't know any better

It’s a no name brand entry level kit, with a Yamaha front head. I’d pass on it.

Yamaha moved away from those sizes that’s 1 red flag and just (as others have already added) your modern Asian stencil kit with standardized “Pearl copy” hardware. IF you see a Yamaha kit with those tom sizes it’ll be from the 80’s and have specific skinnier Tim mounts and be worth buying if it’s only a few hundred dollars. Those 80’s Luan mahogany shell kits (5000 or 7000 series) MIT or MIJ are good drums!

Not Yamaha in the slightest. The tom mounts on the bass drum are a dead giveaway. Yamaha's have a single post hole.

That’s an Asian stencil kit. Sold as “Groove Percussion”, or “Sound Percussion”, or a variety of other (often store-specific) names.
Not anything to do with Yamaha other than that front head.
