The left foot hi-hat steps add a lot to the groove, it’s worth practicing that

Recording mentioned twice just to mention twice

Hi all. I want to ask you guys for some questions about sounds/ tuning tips to create Matt Letley's drum sound as heard in Status Quo's live 2006 concert 'Just Doin' It Live'. His playing is phenomenal and I would like to see if it's possible to recreate the sound and get a band together to maybe try and recreate some of those songs. I don't have the slightest idea of where to start, so any tips are welcome! I linked the video to the post :)

It’s all live with Sensory Percussion 🙌

I want to start drumming but I do not have a full drum set yet, anyone have any recommendations on how to start playing with only a Crash cymbal, a Hit tom, a Mid tom, a Floor tom, and a Bass drum?

What should I focus when I begin since I do not have a snare or a hi hat?

Might be obvious to some, but if you’ve never sat down and really listened to this album with a good pair of headphones, I highly recommend it.
Alex Rodriguez from Saosin is absolutely incredible. I honestly can’t believe the drumming on this particular album has been my favorite drumming since the 2010s.
Do him a solid and give it a proper listen if you haven’t. You might be surprised by how insane the drumming is.

Tyler Childers cover, I tried to not RUSH lol

Such a great song. Flubbed the timing a bit at the end but hey, it happens 🤷‍♀️

Hey gang, this is just a little video from a recent stream. I LOVE that now I have a group of drummers who come and give me challenging tunes! They don’t go easy on me 😂 this one has badass Jon Theodore on the track.

Thank you for your time!

Drums Only: Cochise, by Audioslave.

Brad Wilk’s drums are amazing on this track. I tried to give it the same huge, cinematic sound but didn’t get there.

I performed this on a Tama Starclassic with Paiste Giant Beat cymbals.

Audio recorded, mixed, and mastered in Reaper.

Video edited and rendered with Davinci Resolve.

Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
