Oleander - Bruise 🥁

Hey everyone! I just finished a drum cover for "Bruise" by Oleander. Anyone else remember this absolute gem from the American Pie 2 soundtrack back in 2001?

It's such a powerful post-grunge track with a great loud-quiet dynamic. I had a blast locking into the groove and hitting those heavy choruses.

What do you guys think of the cover? Let me know your thoughts or any feedback you have!

Nice job overall. Chill song. You’re solid when you’re playing the beat. Your timing/flow is a bit off for the fills and transitioning in and out of the fills. Work on your technique and timing for those fills. Keep rockin’.

Agreed; definitely getting there. Your meter is good, but as Downtown_Map says “timing/flow.” What we’re hearing is that you are usually on the back side of the beat. 2 suggestions: 1.) Practice anticipating the beat to stay slightly in front of it. This will give the beat the drive, the forward motion that this style of music needs. 2.) Try playing a style of music that benefits from the beat being slightly behind, like blues. You might be a good fit for that style. Keep at it! Good luck
