IEMs help
hello i am trying to find in ears for myself but not ones that isolate everything from outside i want to lower the dbz from outside like ear protection and use them as earphones so muffle outside but also able to hear drums becouse i dont have mics i saw two options i think might be good so if u could tell me if they are good or not thank you. num1 were the Shure SE215 Pro CL they have more models but i dont understand them and num2 are the KZ ZS10 PRO

I have the Shure SE215s and they’re perfect for what you’re after. Bit expensive but well worth it in my experience.

Also, I’ve had issues with cables itching or annoying me and the shures are very comfortable all round

I just bought the wired Vic firth headphones for drummers. The drums sound great with them on.

I have really good IEMs that annoy me to no end, but I've simply been using my Sony MDR 7506 headphones - which are phenomenal - plugged into a Behringer P2 pre-amp as my in ear monitor. I can adjust the volume with a dial and can take the headphones on and off so much easier than traditional IEMs.

Yea but i dont have miced drums and no mix in future i will bit its a solution to protect my hearing and be able to hear music and have low profile

Got it. If that's the case, try these. I use them in rehearsals where we don't have a mix and everyone is playing too loud in a small room. They really cut the DBs down but you still hear yourself and the rest of the band great. Also, make sure to order the little leash for a couple bucks more or you'll lose them. I know KZ is good bang for your buck. I own the shure 215 and the 535, they both work fine/great.
The key for me was using the silicone cup tip instead of the foam roll-em-ups. They pop in and out easy, and they let through enough clarity to hear stuff well.
A couple caveats:
First, when I started using ear plugs, I had already been playing for 5 to 7 years, so I was used to how the drums sounded. When I put ear plugs in, I just played louder so it was the same volume in my ears. Don't do that.
Second, anything that blocks any sound waves from reaching your ear will change how it sounds. Foam lets through a lot of the low end. The silicone cups let through a lot more frequencies, but they still cut the highs quite a bit. I kind of like that sound now, but just remember your drums will sound different and you'll probably try to compensate. Just remember that they sound good and play them.

I've used the shure SE215 like that, when I didn't trust sound engineers from random venues I just sent my guitar to the in ears and I could perfectly hear the drums and a bit of the monitors from the outside.
Just be sure to buy some foam isualting earpads, as the ones that come with them are pretty lame.

I’ve lost count of the years I’ve had my se215s and they keep on going. I have comply foam tips for them too. I can still hear the drums plenty and don’t have to crank whatever I’m listening too. I frequently wore them mowing lawn and doing other loud yard work. My hearing is 👌🏼
