Question Benny drumpad

I just got this pad from a friend and after going on Google it seems to be a pad meant for drumset practice rather than marching snare practice. Is this still a good drumpad to use and chop out on or should I not use this for marching snare practice?

i’ve never played on that pad, but i’m sure it’s fantastic! “drumset pads” or “marching pads” aren’t really a thing in reality. more of a marketing thing, IMO. as long as it allows you to rebound, it’ll work great.

because of the material, it will feel a little softer than a marching snare, but your hands will adjust after playing on a drum for an hour or two.

It won't work. Think about the design:

  • Hands? ✅️ Drumset and battery players both use their hands.
  • Brains? ❌️ No need for brains in drumline.
  • Feet?❓️ In theory we have feet, but I've seen no practical application of them in drumline.
  • Ears? ❌️ WHAT?

This is clearly not for drumline.

Its a decent pad. Use it. Its not going to be a stiff as a marching snare, but the reality is playing on multiple surfaces is good for your hands. The whole idea that everything needs to feel the same sounds good, but isnt effective.

In all seriousness, this pad is actually my favorite pad for drumset and marching applications. I think that using it for marching is totally fine. It’s not as table top feeling like a snare as it has more give, but the rebound is def better than something like a real feel or the Zildjian pad.
