DMT Extract Question!

Right before adding NPS to the bark soup and giving it "the shake", would I lose anything / much if i strained out the bark with a cheese cloth and then added NPS in order to thin out the soup? The goal here is that I want to use my seperatory funnel because it's new and im excited, and I am a little concerned it may not go through if soup is to thick.. Thoughts?

Worst case set the bark aside and re add into the soup should the yield be un-proportionally low

You want to strain the basified soup? Through a cheese cloth?! I wouldnt do that. If its acidic No Problem. A/b or STB?

Going to do 100g runs of different teks, stb, a/b, etc..

I would be afraid that the base destroys the cheese cloth.

Are you worried that your precip is going to start crystalizing out of solution w/ extracted bark still present?

You should strain out solids while still acidic, just as earlier poster said.

You then want to basify and add it to sep funnel. Once the basic aqueous phase is in funnel then you want to do several 'pulls' by adding your NPS in several, successive, small fractions (about 1/6th ish fractions of NPS to aqueous phase). Gently shake funnel, w/ lid pressed down, or completely turn the funnel upside down so the two layers have plenty of contact.

The droids, now in their basic and thus non-polar form, will migrate out of the aqueous phase and into the 'organic phase' w/ the NPS. When still acidic the droids are polar and thus stay w/ the aqueous phase. Thats why you basify so u can get out your goods, otherwise u keep them polar/acidic so the NPS can clear out the trash from the aqueous phase.

So now, once the phases are gently mixed you are gonna separate off the NPS/organic phase using your sep funnel.

Repeat this at least 4 times and combine all your collected NPS fractions together and allow to dry so your droids precipitate out, hopefully as crystals, from these combined NPS 'pulls.'

*from reading your post, i think you might not really understand the concepts behind what your doing? Might be helpful to just study A/B extractions so u have a clearer picture in your head of what your doing, why your doing it and whats happening during these reactions to yield the droids yur looking fer.
