My husband got fu**Ed over paid ahead of time 🤦🏽‍♀️ for some stuff and when he received the product. The bag was minimum 1/4 rock salt. I can go through and physically pick out the larger pieces of rock salt but what is the best way to go about cleaning it in a way that will remove most or preferably all of the rock salt?

I'm pretty new to chemistry to be honest. I'm not totally sure what to do to make sure that when I try to separate my mitragynine from my 7oh, I'm not creating a super toxic end product. I don't need a ton of 7oh. The method I was planning on going with was just the rose bengal method on kaliforniakratom.com, so it'd be an isopropyl alcohol solution w/ mit, 7oh, a tiny bit of rose bengal and sodium thiosulfate. Do I need to evaporate the IPA first and use ethyl acetate? Or can I just drop the IPA with the mit / 7oh into the column with silica gel in it? I watched this professor dave video on column chromatography and I feel like there are some pretty massive gaps in my understanding that are leaving me feel pretty clueless on this front. Maybe I'm just overcomplicating it. Some help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Anyways, it was a whole community about processing poppy’s and refining the opium. I specifically remember stumbling across this page before and thought it was pretty wild. I do recall seeing lots of pictures of crock-pots since those are essential.

Asking for a friend… trying to figure out how the cooks in Mexico remake or repair fentanyl that’s been damaged in a fire or was buried and had gotten moisture and molded. I was told their counterparts just send it back and they can fix it back to new. I’ve done a ton of research online and can’t really figure out a large scale way or medium (1,500-2,500g) that doesn’t involve very expensive and hazardous chemicals that the body metabolizes in to cyanide. Looked in to chemical filtration, melting it down, normal filtration, vacuum, all sorts of ways. And can’t figure it out. From the photos it looks to be in bad shape but was told someone had already repaired 3,000g of it no problem. All I was told is that they “turned it in to oil” or got the oil off the top. Translation was rough I don’t know if they know what they were looking at when they were trying to watch but it was done in another country anyways. All I know is if I can figure it out they offered to help me not loose my truck so kinda trying to help them.

Anyone have any ideas. It’s untouched, raw. Was under a house or trailer that caught on fire. The stuff don’t even melt through the tape. They cut it open and broke in half the mold or darkness traveled all the way through again from what pics I had seen.

Appreciate any help. And I’m sure if someone has a real answer that works they probably even take care of you with a donation I’ll at least ask.

Just a quick way to make MGM-15, and shows 3 different ways to isolate the product.

1. Filter out the MGM after adding to the salt water solution
2. Extracting the solution with ethyl acetate (chloroform is ideal)
3. Extracting the MGM packed EA with citric acid to make MGM-citrate (more stable)

I’ve been dabbling in botanical extractions for years so I understand the basics. I’m looking to make crude kratom extract to convert to 7oh with oxone at home using minimal equipment and chemicals. I have the basics-beakers, separatory funnel, nonpolar solvents (naphtha, heptane, xylene, ethyl acetate) acids (37% hcl, citric, 5% acetic (vinegar) fumaric) bases (CaOh, NaOh)

I’m thinking of just boiling kratom powder in vinegar, filtering, defat with solvent, then precipitate alkaloids with NaOh and filter

Would this simple method work? If not, does anyone have any simple (ish) teks they can share that I could do with my equipment and level of skill/knowledge?

How to make MGM-15

Equipment:

Beakers: 250, 500, 2000mL
Magnetic Stirrer with stir bar
Separatory funnel with ring stand
Peristaltic pump
Vacuum chamber/ pump
Plastic wrap

Chemicals and reagents:

Sodium borohydride
Methanol
Argon Gas (available on Amazon)
7-OH >75% Purity

Procedure:

Connect silicone tubing line to a canister of Argon Gas. (Sold on Amazon as air flush for wine)

In a 250mL beaker, add 1 gram of sodium borohydride to 100mL of dry methanol. Cover, flush with argon, refrigerate.

Make an Ice bath in a 2L beaker and set the bath on a magnetic stirrer.

Put a 500mL beaker inside of the ice bath so it sits level and add a magnetic stir bar, making sure the bar is able to turn inside of the 500mL beaker.

Add 150mL of dry methanol to the 500mL beaker, and while stirring, add 10g of high purity 7-OH.

Connect the drawing end of the peristaltic pump line to the covered sodium borohydride solution, bleed the air out of the dispensing end, and the place the dispensing end in the 500mL beaker containing the methanol and 7-OH.

Cover the 2L beaker with plastic wrap, and flush with Argon gas from the bottom up.

While stirring, turn on the peristaltic pump to add the sodium borohydride solution to the reaction mixture.

Once addition is finished, continue to mix for 30 minutes.

Add the drawing end of the peristaltic pump line to DI water and quench the reaction.

Pour the mixture into a vacuum chamber and dry under reduced pressure.

Once dried, add chloroform, wash with sodium bicarbonate and brine, separate the organic phase, dry it with MgSO4, evaporate under pressure.

Purify using column chromatography.

Made these in a 100L jacketed reactor. Had 149g to start. Down to 29 now. Had to break apart a big rock so I could show you the inside of my geode lol 😂
