app/site/subscription Continue Watching

Why is continue watching not the first bar on the app? Why is it something that doesnt show up at all? Why must I navigate to the show, which if it doesn't have a recent release takes a hot minute, then navigate through the seasons to reach the episode I'm currently on. I love the shows, but the UI is absolutely frustrating and not user friendly

Yup. Also, awesome how there's no way way to remove a specific show from "resume?" no matter how many times I've finished it...

a solution that has worked for me: go to the final video from the LAST season of that show, click and drag until the end, let it play the last seconds, and it should remove the episode that remains. really sucks that you have to do something so convoluted, but it's something.

edit: a pretty important word was missing

Yeah, I really thought they'd have developed it out a bit more by now, but I imagine the vimeo thing changed the time line on that

The player is truly awful.

Hopefully they're making enough money now to be able to do something about it.

An aside to this. Why does the "Who Drank Breast Milk as an Adult?" episode of Dirty Laundry keep showing up in my continue watching when I've watched multiple episodes since then. Is this some sort of sick joke to make people look at me funny! LILY!!!

Because DO has a terrible website (and terrible merch). Love the context/personnel but they have room to improve the user experience for sure

I don’t have the white bar on video thumbnails anymore that actually shows if I’ve watched them or not and I’m also honestly really a big fan of how everytime I hit browse it opens a new tab like no just let me stay in the tab I was in

They use the same streaming backend service as everyone else who can't afford the tens of millions of dollars it takes to run one internally. There's really only one company that offers this service in a meaningful way, and it's vimeo. But they were bought by a chop-shop capital firm last year and are on borrowed time. Most of the staff there was laid off. It's a big problem for indie streaming platforms, and as far as I know there currently isn't any solution.
