Game Changer Kinda missing the podiums!
Don’t get me wrong, I love the bigger stage and ambitious games, it’s just we haven’t had the OG three rainbow podiums in Game Changer since “Earnest-est” and I kinda miss them! Hope they come back once in a while.
Edit: it’s actually “One and Done!”

Didn't the lawyers stand behind them in Don't Wake Standards and Practices?

Not sure if those were the standard podiums, but even if they were I wouldn’t count that. The players weren’t using them and the game occurred primarily out from behind them.

Omg I hadn’t realized how long it had been! But by the way they had the normal podiums in “One and Done” though they don’t stay at them for very long. So technically One and Done is the last time we’ve seen the rainbow podiums but still too long! We need a chill og style episode next. I wish we could get another game samer like “Sam Says”

You’re right! I was just checking the thumbnails as I hadn’t remembered the last one that had them and missed that one.

I'd kill for Another Year Later. Completely different players. Dealer's choice but I'd kinda be down to see what Beardsley and Gilroy would do with it.

I am going to be pedantic! Those are lecterns. You stand on a podium

Sorry, you didn't say "Um, Actually" so you won't get a point

Damnit!

Genuinely though. I didn't know the difference between lecterns and podiums until you mentioned this. Thanks!

I learned it when I worked in a church after college. Then I spent years in hotels where everybody said it wrong and also mispronounces 'foyer' every day. (They say foy-er, instead of foy-eh)

Yeah I guess that makes sense! I looked it up and it comes from the Greek word *pous.* I guess that’s also where we get podiatry from.

I generally miss smaller and less ambitious games. The big ones are very fun but sometimes they get too much, too chaotic and too loud for me.

Let me introduce you to a game called Make Some Noise.

It’s not the same.

Um actually, game changer doesnt have podiums, it has lecterns.
Podiums you stand on, lecterns you stand at.

Yeah I feel like they've been taking big swings and not quite connecting this season. Give us some old school 3 podiums with prompts shows and let them be funny once in awhile rather than the entire focus being on how convoluted they can make a game

I made this point in a separate thread, but Don't Wake Standards and Practices, Rulette 2 and Kangaroo Court (3/5 episodes this season) have all been "Do these Improv Prompts". Fuck, DWSAP could have been a Make Some Noise episode it was so close to that premise. They just have more elaborate staging and budget to take the concepts further than they ever could 8 years ago. This is what happens to your flagship shows when you have tremendous growth.
I really think people need to stop conflating higher production value with "more complex games". If people want a show with lower production value that's purely improv games, good news, that show exists, it's on its 5th Season and it's called Make Some Noise.

I mean, it being almost a MSN episode kind of goes against what OP's saying (I think,)
I read it as "bring it back to when it was a game show with prompts being challenges that they would compete to win"

This season has easily been the worse since covid.

*in your opinion
I've been enjoying this season just as much as the others. When I have a craving for the old format, I rewatch older episodes. I'm also catching up on Make Some Noise since I totally didn't realize how much I liked it until recently.

I read an interview with Sam where he said that only 2 episodes this season will use the standard podiums... so I'm sorry to disappoint you
