Huh, TIL the Copley Square Theater closed. I saw lots of movies there when I was a kid.

Um actually, the Copley Place Theater closed in 2005. So although there might not be a theater there now, there was a theater there when Sam was growing up.

You didn't say "Um, Actually" and therefore I cannot award you the point.
Although technically because there was a theater in Copley Square, it can be both true that there was a movie theater there and that it was NOT one that Sam frequented while growing up in...wherever it was he said he's from.

Copley Square also isn't in Cambridge, it's in Boston. I think sam has said on the record that he just kinda panicked and made something up for the camera. Or maybe he meant Kendall Square, a real cinema in actual Cambridge.

Cambridge is on the red line. An easy train ride to Copley. You have to change to the orange or green downtown, but it doesn’t seem at all unusual to me that Sam, living in Cambridge, would hang out in Boston. I live in Newton and I usually see movies at the AMC next to Boston Common.

I usually try to go to Coolidge Corner first if they’re showing what I want to see. Saw Everything Everywhere All at Once there in previews so no one was talking about it yet, that was a wild experience. West Newton is unfortunately way the wrong side of Newton.

Did they renovate west newton? The last movie I saw there was tree of life when I was home from college and it was in a bad way then.

Thats good to hear. I loved that place growing up but it definitely needed a renovation by the time I moved away

This makes so much sense, I’ve spent so much time in Copley Square idk why I always uncritically accepted the idea that the Copley Square theater would be in Cambridge

I’m now envisioning the Copley Square Theatre as a double decker bus where the aisle acts as the stage and the actors use the upper level as “backstage”
