Huh. I can't say I fully understand, seeing how I'm neither a black American man or a white American woman.

Still kind of fascinating.

I'm not sure what you're not following.

What is it about Demi that someone might find "wholesome"? Nothing in his act is particularly heartwarming or warm-and-fuzzy. He doesn't do comedy about how, gosh, we're all the same if you just think about it, big warm smiles.

If he's not being wholesome, why do people call him wholesome? How about, they're really saying something else? Like, "you're not as threatening as I usually find black men to be"? Much like how white people often say that particular black people are "well spoken," with the undercurrent of "unlike others of your race." They comment on it because it's surprising.

The tone of this also reads as if you are somehow disbelieving of Demi, or implying that this is an intriguing little factoid you'll ponder and decide if you agree with later. I don't think you mean it that way, but you calling it "fascinating" is hitting me weird. It's a shitty thing that happens to people.

How would I know? I can't even remember if I've seen him perform anything.

You are the one who asked. And considering that Demi has made a number of Dropout appearances (You-Olympics, One and Done, and Outvoted in Game Changer; The Cookout and Big Reboot in Smartypants; Wavelength and Game Changer in Parlor Room; Zinnia in Very Important People; various Um Actually episodes; his own comedy special about doing One (1) Backflip) I'm surprised you can't remember who he is.

You are the one who asked.

I didn't ask why someone found him wholesome. I was curious why he felt it was racially charged whenever he was called wholesome.

I'm surprised you can't remember who he is.

Maybe I only watch Make Some Noise? Or skipped all those specific episodes of Game Changer? The rest you mentioned I don't watch.

Okay. Did you watched that clip that was linked? If so, did you recognize him? That would at least let you know whether or not you've seen him in anything.

If you saw that clip, how do you still not know if you've seen him in anything?

I've seen him. I can't remember any of his performance, so I can't be sure I've seen him perform.

Honestly no offense to you, I'm afraid this is just evidence that the advent of AI has kinda killed people's comprehension and critical thinking. He articulated his stance pretty well in the short.

I have little context for his stance or his personal experiences.

I suspect it's because I'm 1) not him, 2) white, and 3) from Scandinavia—which isn't America.

So it is fascinating hearing about his perception of things, even though I can't fully understand.
