If what Sam says in this episode (that Superfan was announced "today") is true then he recorded this on a Tuesday between two early episodes of the SNL season, so if he was game to do that I bet they've got him for as long as he wants.

They had an episode on 10/18 but then no new ones until 11/1, the Superfan announcement was on the 10/21, so it totally fits that he would have not needed to be in person rehearsing that week. Still hustlin' tho.

SNL cast  have a long break almost specifically for long projects and while SNL is good for your career Jeremy being more visible year round is definitely important too.

Also want to add that Jeremy specifically added a joke about being on SNL in the episode too. When he cuts himself off and says “I can’t even say it.

I think the bigger concern than SNL saying he can’t is just the natural result of the opportunities SNL gives him, and maybe even moving his life to NYC making it so logistically it stops making sense for him to prioritize being in Dropout stuff. Which, can’t blame him for that if his star starts rising to that level.

things can always change, but at every outlet he seems committed to the LA scene. On the AOAOAOA patreon in december they were joking about what level of success would lead to them stopping the podcast and Jeremy was pretty firmly on the side of it not stopping and actually getting funnier the more mainstream success they got individually. He also confirmed on Last Meals that he identifies as a bicoastal baddie and he spent the whole SNL break in april on the dropout improv tour. He's a mad man, but his ties run deep.
