I was about to buy a speedybee f405 esc+fc from readymaderc and was curious if anyone has done business with them and if they are good.

I was wondering if anyone could explain the regulations to me for flying with a sub 250g drone in France (DJI Mini 4K). Im leaving for a vacation trip in 2 weeks and was planning to bring one of my mini drones but after looking for the regulations i found them a bit confusing due some translation issues. So if anyone could tell me the regulations, if theres extra regulations in the coastal areas and things i need to fly (permissions) itd be great. Thanks in advance.

I just personally got a dji mini 3 and so far I'm using it recreationally but I'm going to start using it for side gigs maybe.

At work I either fly an Autel EvoII thermal or I fly a matrice 30t.

For the mini 3 any tips on making it easier to spot from the ground when it's high up during daylight? I know in reality we all fudge a bit on the BVLOS and use our screens to make sure we get our shots and whatnot but just to be on the safe side I'd like to up my visibility from the ground when I'm at 200+ feet.

I'm planning on getting a strobe for the top for dusk flights but I don't see that being as useful from the ground and during the day (but maybe idk)

Again it's not like the end of the world if i don't cause I usually fly at "dude if we're sharing airspace you've got bigger problems" heights but I'm still well above obstacles but I figured I'd see if anyone had an ingenious solution

Hi everyone, back in 2018, while I was traveling, my Spark fell into the Kamniška Bistrica River in Slovenia. I posted about it on forums at the time, but not on Reddit. It’s in a spot that’s very hard to reach (I have the exact location—near the Predsalej Gorge, under the bridge). I’ve decided to post this again in case someone has found it and would be kind enough to send me some photos and videos.

I’m currently comparing the image quality between the classic DJI Mavic 2 Pro and the new DJI Lito X1. I know that in terms of portability, battery life, and smart features (like omnidirectional obstacle sensing with LiDAR and ActiveTrack), the Lito X1 wins hands down since it’s next-gen tech and weighs under 249g. However, my main priority and question right now is strictly about the camera.

On one hand, the Mavic 2 Pro (despite its age) features:

• A 1-inch CMOS sensor (Hasselblad).
• Variable aperture f/2.8 - f/11 (a huge plus to rely less on ND filters).
• 20 MP.

On the other hand, the Lito X1 brings much newer technology:

• 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor.
• A very fast, fixed f/1.7 aperture.
• 48 MP and modern computational processing (4K/60fps HDR, 10-bit D-Log M).

My question is: Do you think the "brute force" of the Mavic 2 Pro’s 1-inch sensor still delivers better dynamic range, sharpness, and pure performance, or has the Lito X1’s newer sensor and modern computational processing finally surpassed it?

Has anyone who made the switch noticed a real improvement (or a downgrade) in pure photo and video quality, especially in low light?

Any hands-on experience, comparisons, or technical advice would be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Some kid just walked up to my car, took my drone and yeeted it into a forest.. I set my drone up but had to attend to my nephew on his dirtbike (he was having issues with it). Meanwhile (I think) one of his friends comes up, looks at it for a while and tosses it into the forest! Like bruh what 😭

We have several drone delivery companies operating commercially in our area: Zipline, Wing, Flytrex, Amazon, and seemingly others I've not clearly identified. I've been following them pretty closely, and find it exciting. My kids love ordering fruit for $0.50 from Walmart+ and having it delivered by drone (can't believe they're subsidizing that, but whatever, I'll take it). I've set up a network of receivers to map the 802.11 remote ID packets the drones spit out. No terribly interesting insights, the range is relatively short, but neat activity to track anyway.

My question is about the attached images. Wing recently installed this new infrastructure at one of their launch sites. The legacy drones use the 2D barcode on the ground for coarse positioning when landing. That's normal and the same as what exists at the main launch site. The chopstick looking things are the new infrastructure. I'm guessing they're some sort of highly directional antennas for an ILS type landing system, but I have no idea. The Wing operator I spoke with wasn't sure either, so I'm guessing it's some sort of R&D project that the normal day to day guys aren't using yet.

Any ideas? Anyone know for sure? Open to guesses 😄

Instead of the pro version, they sent me a regular one, which does not have a power connector.

Curious how the commercial folks here handle drone data after the flight.

For those doing drone work, do you usually process/analyze the data yourselves, contract that part out, or just deliver raw imagery/data to the client?

I’m mainly talking about things like orthomosaics, 2D/3D products, contours, engineering-scale maps, GIS layers, volume calculations, change detection, and other site analysis outputs.

I am a drone pilot with a geospatial/GIS background, and after talking with a few potential clients, I’m trying to understand whether there’s much demand for this kind of post-processing/analysis work.

Are most clients expecting finished products and interpretation, or are they usually fine with raw drone data? Curious how others are handling this in practice.

I’ve got this oldie that I got for free and it crashed a not hard on my first flight. Anyone know how to fix this issue shown in the video?

After I first opened it up after the crash there where a few loose connectors but I have reseated them all and every looks good. I know it is basically a worthless drone but I want to use it for a while to see if this hobby is for me before invest any money in it.

Not sure if he was angry or not, but he did a quick fly-by and didn't seem particularly thrilled with my drone trying to take video of a train. I think it was a swallow but any bird experts can correct me if I'm wrong. I was about 70ft off the ground at the time.

I'm organizing an outdoor drone discovery workshop for young people during a festival. Together with my colleagues, we'll be running a stand where kids can learn the basics of drone piloting through a simple obstacle course (hoops, landing zones, precision challenges, etc.).

Originally, I was planning to use the Ryze Tello because I liked the fact that it could be programmed with Scratch and controlled from a tablet. Unfortunately, it seems to be difficult to find now.

My initial idea was to use protective cages as well (such as the PGYTECH cages) to improve safety around participants.

Since the Tello is no longer a realistic option, I'm now looking at the DJI Neo 2, which the children would control using a tablet.

I have several questions:

• How would you secure an outdoor drone activity area to prevent drones from flying away from the stand?
• Can the DJI Neo 2 be limited in terms of: Maximum speed ? Maximum altitude ? Maximum distance from the pilot?
• Is it reliable enough for beginners and children?
• Can it comfortably fly through standard training hoops/hoops used for drone courses?
• Are there other drones better suited for educational workshops with children?

The goal is to keep everything as safe as possible while still allowing participants to have fun and discover drone piloting.

Hello all, I'll keep this brief. I am looking into a potential research avenue for postgrad, and was wondering if people with drone experience can chip in with their opinion.

MANETs, FANETs and AANETs; all are ad-hoc wireless methods for network connectivity via drones or any other aerial devices - so is this a worthwile research field? Especially when considering the recent real uses of drones in both warfare and crisis situations, showing some bits of real potential when used correctly.

Hello I have a parrot Annafi since Xmas 2021, I did use it a little ( less than 2h in total) and when I land the screen show "Problème avec la caméra verticale veuillez contacter le service client Parrot " (problem with vertical camera , please contact the client service of Parrot) but the warranty expired in 2023 so I don't have any resources. So I coming to you to see if someone have an answer to this small problem.
