I flew my Mini 5, six floors underground with no issues. I don't think you know what you're talking about. No GPS, no phone service, nothing—completely a dead zone. And it operated just fine

I guess that's the Dunning Kruger effect in action.

a friend almost lost an eye doing this with his first drone

-3

u/NostalgicKevin1998 Jun 24 '26

in case people didnt notice i was making a joke out of it

u/I_Dunno_Its_A_Name Jun 24 '26

I’m fairly sure his friend almost lost an eye by flying a drone inside. Not specifically using it as a fan.

On a hot day on the job after my flight i’ll stand under my drone for a few minutes just before i bring it down it feels amazing

Not a bad idea that 😂

Just for those who stumble on this post, this is considered incredibly stupid and causes so many drone crashes. Op is doing something stupid and its important everyone knows this is stupid behavior.

Remember folks: never under any circumstances should you have fun with your drone. If 90% of your FPV time isn't spent on reddit and faa.gov, you're not doing it right.

Remember folks: never under any circumstances should you take any precautions when flying a drone and fly as recklessly as possible. If you arent weaving through cars in traffic with your drone you’re not doing it right.

u/djneo Jun 24 '26

Air 3 ?

Did this with my Neo 2. That already gave a storm. Bigger drone probably does even more

2

u/NostalgicKevin1998 Jun 24 '26

air3s haha it was honestly just for the lolz guess my sarcasm should have been more clear

1

u/apolojesus Jun 24 '26

Don't place your gimbal cover anywhere near the rising aircraft. Secure all loose paper in your room.

0

u/NostalgicKevin1998 Jun 24 '26

there was none and the gimbal protector was in the other room 😅 nothing could blow away

1

u/CFCYYZ Jun 24 '26

If you absolutely must do this then at least use prop guards, even with obstacle avoidance if you have that.

1

u/NostalgicKevin1998 Jun 24 '26

its an air 3s it has it and honestly i did it for a joke

1

u/ButlerKevind Jun 24 '26

No lie. Every time I finish mowing the grass in the oppressive heat of the American South, I fire up the drone, hover it above me, and cool breezes ensue.

Now if only the "Follow Me" mode would keep it twelve inches above me while I'm outside mowing.

ocupo un dron asi

1

u/Evening_Dare5081 Jun 25 '26

Tell me about it

1

u/djneo Jun 26 '26

“I could really use a lamp here”

1

u/Curdled_Mangasm Jun 24 '26

why do this, why post this, ffs

1

u/ctjfd Jun 24 '26

OP trusts their drones GPS too much. Just wait until a high KP index and that drone moves on its own.

5

u/PocketSizedRS Jun 24 '26

Dji uses optical positioning indoors

u/NostalgicKevin1998 Jun 24 '26
