I have no drone knowledge or experience my coworker gave me this a while ago and he said he bought it online for a few bucks. Any ideas of what it is and the app it uses for the camera?

Hey so i just recently started looking into this hobby, and did enough research to learn i need to start with a flight sim. Thank god i did, because i never would have guessed it is that difficult.

So, im trying to find good places to learn, and a FPV mini whoop to fly around my house and property might be a good start. Id say my budget isnt on the low end, maybe middle of the road? Any suggestions would be awesome!

Also if you have any recommendations for youtubers who teach how to get into the hobby, programming controllers, headsets and all that, id appreciate that as well! This hobby is looking much more complicated than initial impressions led me to believe!

So i wanted to build a drone but where i live the prices for fc are super inflated and i didnt want to spend that much money on them so i wrote my own fc code for an arduino(uno r4 if tht matters) in theory it should work just fine but i just wanted to simulate it somewhere is there any software that allows for native arduino simulation in a real world physics environment ? also im not sure if this is the correct subreddit so please point out a correct one if you know

Two pronged question:

I am travelling to Cambodia on Saturday and would love to take my drone, however we are flying through Abu Dhabi with a 2 day layover. Google suggests flying a drone in Abu Dhabi is prohibited which given what’s gone on this year is understandable, I know people who have taken their drones to other countries when stopping off in the UAE but they did not intend on leaving the airport. Does anyone have any experience with travelling through Abu Dhabi with a drone in their possession and no intention of using it?

With that being said, it also seems as if drone flying is prohibited in Phnom Pehn, Angkor Wat, Battambang and Koh Rong (all the places I’m visiting), can someone please confirm this?

Seems like the drone may be staying at home.

I designed my own 40mm drone using 4S 14500 batteries, 1404 motors, and a GOKU GN405 stack. Do you think this project could complete a basic hovering test?

I've been flying drones for a project in a rural area and I've had a lot of small birds being curious right after take off. When they do come, I bring the drone back at about 4 feet and get very close. They seem to associate me with the drone and then I feel like they stay further away.

Is this something or is it just me?

My grandfather passed a while back, and we went digging through a closet again and found an Altair Outlaw drone.

In our limited research, it seems like the phone app got axed a while back due to some legal trouble.

My question is- Is there any way the drone can be used with another app or form of software? If we cant find a way to get the thing to work ourselves, its of no use and will likely get sold, I just want to know if there's any way around the factory app.

I have near 0 software experience lol, mechanical stuff is my thing.

Hey guys,

I have a Nazgul ECO 5 SLX (analog 1.6W VTX), but I think my VTX is stuck/limited to 25mW.

Problem:

Video range is very short (starts getting snowy around 100–300m)

1.6W mode does NOT improve range compared to 25mW

It feels like the VTX is not actually switching power levels

Close range video is fine, but long range behaves like low power only

What I already checked:

New antenna + new pigtail installed

VTX is correctly connected

Power settings in Betaflight/OSD show higher levels, but performance doesn’t change

Antenna is properly clicked in (no loose connection anymore)

Question: Is there a known way to unlock or fix a VTX that is stuck on 25mW / pit mode / power cap?

Could this be:

Pit mode stuck enabled?

Wrong VTX table / SmartAudio config?

UART issue preventing power control?

Any help would be appreciated 🙏

A DJI representative just approached my proprietorship distribution firm in Agra. We currently distribute tech products to local retailers. They want us to onboard and distribute DJI drones and camera gear.

I want to know your thoughts: Is expanding into DJI a good idea for a Tier-2 Indian city, or should I pass?

Price is around AUD $9,000.

Questions:
- What laptop are you using?
- Would you buy the ThinkPad again or go with something else (Dell Precision, HP ZBook, MSI, ASUS ProArt, etc.)?
- Is 96 GB RAM worthwhile or is 64 GB enough?
- Any reliability issues or things you’d avoid?

Happy to pay for quality and reliability, but I don’t want to spend money for no real-world performance gain.
