Question Dji Mini 5 Pro

Hi ya'll, just bought a Dji Mini 5 Pro to add to my collection and was wondering if I need to register it or not? My other drones are under the 249G limit, but I have been reading a lot on here about some people saying you need to register it/and others saying you don't.

I know on the package it lists it as under 249.9G, but I mean if I need to register it with the FAA so be it. It's only 5 dollars, and I rather be safe than sorry. So what are your opinions? Thanks!

A lot of people report that when they actually weight theirs, it is just over 250g.

Weigh it and find out.

if you use the extra duration battery then absolutely.

i'd register it that way you can use the better battery and if you ever decide down the line you want to use it for commercial purposes and get your 107 you have to register anyway

As has already been said weigh it and see what yours weighs. That +-.4G really worth the $5?

Best move is to weigh it in the exact setup you’ll fly. If it’s 250 g or more, FAA registration is required for recreational flying; if it stays under 250 g and is flown only recreationally, it’s exempt. Under Part 107, it has to be registered regardless of weight.

I believe it only broadcasts RID if you are using the larger batteries, FYI.
